Looks like KC doesn't want to win. Giving up 5 runs in the 9th to send it in to extra time. 4 of those given up by Ramirez and 1 by Peralta. Twins score again in the 10th and it's over. A couple of infield pop ups by Butler and Teahen and then Callaspo grounds out to end the game.

Some excellent news for Royals fans...
Look at those May splits: .305/.345/.590
Also with a higher slugging percentage against leftys than rightys.
Also -
and
These things along with getting a stud in the 08 draft and another high pick in 09 are the things Royals fans should be focusing on. Just look at the TB as the blueprint for how quickly you can go from sucktitude to extremely exciting young team if you draft in the top 5 correctly.

Rosa is definitely pitching well, sans that first start in Omaha. If Cortes can cut down on his walks just a bit, he'll be right where he needs to be. And it's nice to see Moose heating up. They just need to go ahead and put him in the OF now. 11 errors at SS (tied for the team "lead").
It will be interesting to see how the team responds to Guillen's blowup after KC snatched defeat from the jaws of victory last night.
10 in a row now . . .

Guillen was pretty much right. He could have done without the babies comment but his point is valid.
Hopefully they get back to basics and learn how to play the game right and become more patient at the plate.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Guillen is hitting .244 with and OBP of .244 and a slugging percentage of .366 through the 10 game losing streak.
(Yeah, I'm starting to feel over this losing streak).

On the bright side, who ever thought we'd score 8 runs in a single game this season? I mean, I know we gave up nine, but we scored eight! It does make you wish we could face Livan Hernandez every game this year though, doesn't it?
Is John Buck done as the everyday catcher in KC? Miguel Olivo and Buck both have one-year deals, and it's doubtful that both will want to resign (or that KC will want to spend $2+ mill on Buck again). Olivo has been winning the battle all year, and it's really not close. It's great that we can plug Olivo into the DH sometimes, and get both catchers in the line-up, but that's not a long term solution. I doubt we'd get much of anything in terms of trade value for John. He'd be a great back-up, but now that we're seeing Olivo every day, it's becoming clearer that John's time as a starter in KC is probably over.
If that becomes the case, then it's really too bad, because Buck was targeted as a cornerstone of the Royals youth movement following the Beltran trade. Big John has given KC some prodigious homers and he's been great in the community, but it's going to take a lot more consistency in his dwindling at bats if he's going to make a run at Olivo's new job.
Also, Dayton Moore, resign Miguel Olivo, please.

Bucks points come behind the plate where he handles the pitching staff very well. But his bat hasn't come along like I'd hoped. Olivo defiinitely has the better bat, but I'm not sure he handles duties behind the plate as well. But that could also be from not knowing the staff as well as John does.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
