Gonna go ahead and be a giant delta bravo and quote myself here while also not refraining from saying "I told you so" to no one in particular.

        • I think it is safe to say his stuff isn't the same post TJ surgery. Just a little lost velocity and/or movement, and suddenly we get into way too many Chris Berman longball calls.

              At $8 million per.

Strahm should get his spot in the bullpen hierarchy.

              • I think the Royals may be toast as far as this year's playoffs are concerned. At least the way the are playing right now. An immediate turn around has to happen to have any chance.

                • The Cubs have a shot at finishing above .500. That would be great!

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

                  • The Royals eeked out a much needed 6-5 road victory over the ChiSox tonight but it was anything but easy.

The Royals are 4 games out of the 2nd AL Wild Card slot with only 21 games remaining. Perhaps a bigger problem is that they will have to climb over 5 teams if they are going to squeeze into the playoffs. Unfortunately, over the past 10 games the Royals have a worse record at 4-6 than any of the 5 teams in front of them.

The 5 teams the Royals will have to climb over are Baltimore, Detroit, New York, Houston and Seattle.

As far as today goes only Detroit lost and that was to Baltimore.

                    • The Royals earned a nice 2-0 win over the ChiSox and tough LHP Chris Sales today as Ian Kennedy pitched 6 innings of 1 hit baseball and Peter Moylan, Kelvin Herrera and Wade Davis finished off the shut out with 3 innings of relief allowing only 1 other hit.

Baltimore's win over the Tigers coupled with Toronto's loss to Boston creates a tie between Baltimore and Toronto for the two AL Wild card slots.

The Yanks also lost today and along with the Tigers are 2,0 games out of the ALWC. Houston is 3 back but are trailing the Cubs 3-0 after 2 innings in Houston tonight. Seatlle won and is 3.5 games back and the Royals remain 4 games back.

The Royals head home for 4 games vs Oakland and 4 games vs the White Sox starting Monday.

                      • Well, I was hoping that during playoff time, I'd have the Royals to cheer for. I guess the only one I'll be cheering for is Dayton Moore, that he will pull his head out of his ass and get rid of Ned and Soriass. I don't understand why Ned doesn't want to win, but that's the only excuse to keep parading the worst pitcher in the majors onto the field. That's 12 times this year that he's come in either tied or with a lead and left behind. Is Ned really that stupid?

Ned Yost is going to be a Royals HOFer and will maybe even get his number retired...and most of the Royals fanbase hates him.

And it's all his own fault.

You won't get an argument from me on that.

Actually, the more I think about it, the hatred IS all his own fault. As for being a Royals HOFer, I'd probably push that more onto Dayton and the farm system giving him an incredibly talented group of guys to manage.
