I don't get the GoFundMe campaigns either. To me, it's just another example of how this generation is losing touch with personal relationships. Why go out and raise money when they can just post an idea on the internet and have random anonymous people each chip in $10-$100 a piece? If the thing fails, they don't have to answer to anyone, or look them in the eyes at the next family gathering.
It's just high tech panhandling. He doesn't caree about Shockernet or anyone here, he's just spreading his idea to every social networking platform associated with WSU. I too hope he's successful, I just don't like the crowdfunding concept.
Actually there's no such thing as pepperoni. At least not in Italy, where it is supposedly from. It doesn't look like pepperoni over there, it looks like salami, so they call it........spicy salami.
I brought back a big package from Florence (vacuum packed, of course). Along with some parma, prosciutto and more. I really liked the owner of the store, he was a great guy.
My problem is that its his first post. I agree with Doc. But maybe in a strange way. I don't so much mind gofundme accounts to raise money for a business, but the problem I have with this one is that it's his first post on Shockernet, so it's like he's hitting people up he doesn't even know or has built a relationship with. Usually people (at least the ones I have watched on SharkTank) get their friends and family to spread the word when they set up a gofundme account. I think it is really strange to be soliciting complete strangers.
Since we don't really know these people, how are we to know whether they really want to open a pizza shop or as Dan said, high tech panhandling.
OOPS! Damn, gotta pay that speeding ticket and don't have the jack. I know, I'll set up a gofundme account and ask for money to open my 'pizzeria'.
The organic pizza bakery that opened near UNLV in 1991 was so much better that it's pointless to even try to open another one. Just make the drive to Vegas. That pizza is better than any other pizza of all time. You're kidding yourself if you think any pizza you've EVER eaten in all of galactic history could beat that pizza. That pizza won all of its games by an average of like 20 points.

And that was kind of my point...the uses for the money are endless. The fact that the OP hasn't returned to further bolster his request I believe tells you all you need to know.
If in fact lightning were to strike and their goal was met, I'd bet dollars to donuts that he and his buddy would collect their salary for about 3 months and then realize they couldn't even open the doors.
A buddy of mine who teaches at the U of New Mexico told me a few years ago he had a gluten free pizza in Chicago. I asked sheepishly how it tasted. He said it was great! Knowing how much of a carnivore he is, I gave him a very puzzled look, and asked what the crust was made from. His answer...
Ground sausage.
Game. Set. Match. I did ask if the restaurant was getting a kickback from the local cardiologists.
