You want to know what sucks on both Android an Apple? The auto correct and predictive text. There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I really don't have a problem with whatever platform anyone uses, my original point was that I just don't get the whole cult following. What Apple showed off yesterday has been around for some time, but there are people that act like this is some new innovation. It isn't. Personally, I own Android, Apple and Microsoft products. It drives me nuts that Android people give me crap for having iPads and Apple people look down at my phone.
In fact, I had a 1st generation iPhone from the very first day they launched. Remember those 24 hour camp out lines? What pisses me off is my wife threw it away because I cracked the screen on it!!!!?!? WTF!!?!?! She thought it was junk because of that and tossed it. ARG
Anyhow, I found:
1) Roku to be better than Apple TV -- if just for the custom channels
2) My PC is way faster, functional and reliable for deep development work than my Mac and Linux boxes
3) The Linux server can't be beaten as a server
4) The iPad is a superior navigation experience over the Android tablets (though lack of Flash still pisses me off tremendously [see mobile phone])
5) The Samsung Note 2 was far superior to my previous iPhones for a myriad of reasons. One of which, I was able to install Flash on it so I can watch sports feeds on it. [That alleviated my irritation with the iPad] One thing I hate about Android compared with iPhone is their implementation of copy/paste.
6) iPod shuffle via WaterFi -- $160 for a $40 shuffle. But ... I am somewhat of a serious runner and was on my 4th(!) shuffle ruined due to sweat. 4 x $40 = $160. I said screw it and bought WaterFi's version for $160 -- I have had it for years now without any issues. Can even wash that bad boy in the washing machine accidentally and it doesn't phase it. All of MP3 players suck in comparison to iPod.
7) Garmin GPS watch for running. Hands down far superior to any competitor that I owned/tested. Nike Plus is a severe waste of money. Running with an iPhone (or any phone for that matter) sucks. Period. It's awful. I feel sorry for people when I see them running with a mobile phone.

What I don't understand are the lines for the new products and the reaction Apple users have when Apple releases a product that competitors have been marketing for years.
But the Apple scientologists (not all Apple users are a member of the Apple cult) feel like they must defend their Apple purchases in order to justify the extraordinary cost of owning Apple products. e.g. A Mac is way more expensive than a PC for what you get -- there is simply no denying that -- yet an Apple zealot will argue that point until they are dead and buried. And those suckers will argue in favor of their Apple purchase while never having owned a competitive brand product in that category. A counter example is the iPod. Cheap MP3 players are worthless and paying extra money for the iPod is easily justifiable. That's just not true of all Apple products though.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

I also don't have problems with other products or those that support them, but I am Apples key demographic...constantly connected, but with no care for how or why it works.Livin the dream

It's amusing watching the Android peeps attract themselves to anything Apple. It's a bit ironic actually.
My dad has a Galaxy S4 and the crap and crashes that happen constantly with that device has given him quick reason to switch to the iPhone. Everything is easier, more organized, and a lot less complicated. And it works for longer than 4 months.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

I totally disagree with this. I have an iPhone, use iTunes on my PC and have a lynksys router and my iPhone works without all the other apple branded items. I work with both Apple items and PC items everyday and they work together. The only exception is when you try to manage them on an enterprise level. Then it gets a little tricky.

As I've said, I own two iPads, they are the perfect tablet. The one Apple product that never worked for me was iTunes on my pc. I know others that have had the same problem in the past. Maybe iTunes has improved it's compatibility on the pc side but it never worked for me. We pretty much buy all of our music on Amazon and I don't know if they still do it, but the kids used to save Coke caps and use Coke Rewards points to buy music on Rhapsody. There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Back in the day when my kids had iPods and we had just a pc and a laptop, iTunes would use up all of the resources on my computers and take over the cd player. This was a constant problem for me. In fact, the problems I had trying to run iTunes on a pc was one of the reasons that I have the setup I do now. I keep all of my media on two 5 terabyte drives and every device networks wirelessly through that. All of our media is backed up I don't have any music on my phones, it's all on my computer drive. The only problem with this is Verizon wants to take away my unlimited data. I just quit buying handsets on contract and keep my unlimited data grandfathered. If I lose my unlimited data, I will have to change things up. I use about 12-15 gigs a month.

I never thought I'd own another Samsung device because I hate the fact that they never used a standard micro USB port for charging. Any time you got a new Samsung you had to buy a new car charger. My current Note 3 works with a standard micro USB so I tried it. The best thing that I ever did was switch from a flip phone and Palm Pilot to a BlackBerry. The best part was never using a stylus again. The only thing better than that was rediscovering just how helpful and cool a stylus could be on my Note 3.There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.
