Good thing the courts ruled in Apple Computers favor.

Not to mention Apple, Inc. Now owns all trademarks related to "Apple"

Plus the fact that The Beatles are on iTunes makes it seem like they are okay with that fact.

Just because the one with the most money is right doesn't mean the rest of us have to believe it. Those who are ruled for usually don't have to payout half a billion dollars.

56% of American adults now own a smartphone of some kind; Android and iPhone owners account for half of the cell phone user population. Higher income adults and those under age 35 lead the way when it comes to smartphone ownership.

If you are tasked by a random corporation (one that employs you) with targeting one subset over the other for the purposes of marketing, which would you choose - iPhone user or Android user?

        Answer is extremely simple.

You know how there are certain car brands who are stigmatized due to a disproportionate volume of their dealers prevalently targeting low income/bad credit clientele (meaning you don't want to buy that make of car because people might assume you fit that mold)? Android suffers badly from this consumer perception.

Also, they watch is something that has been in development for years; back when Jobs was still alive.

Look, I know it's easy to pick on Apple, or that Andriod may have better products (all a matter of opinion), but to completely discredit anything that they have done is foolish. Just look at Windows and Samsungs commercials; they feel the need to constantly say how their products are "better" then Apple's. Seems like a massive inferiority complex to me.
Actually, smartphones, touchscreens and the like were Palm innovations. Long before Apple introduced a tablet, Microsoft did. Palm didn't adapt fast enough into the cellphone market and the original Microsoft tablets sucked. The original HTC Touch cellphone preceded the iPhone and ran on a Windows platform. At the time, people were still sticking to PDA's, even though smartphone technology had begun. When Apple introduced the first iPhone, it changed the game. The first Droid from Verizon evened the playing field and the arms race began. Unfortunately for Blackberry, they just couldn't keep up.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

You couldn't be more wrong on this one.

I'm enjoying that fact that I linked the results of a scientific demo study from a well-known and respected research non-profit - data that you apparently disagree with on a personal level - and your vaunted response is essentially "uh... you're wrong."

                Solid showing KW.

Forgot about that, sorry. I still wish I had 86's shoephone. And what I'd give for a little 99!!!

I know they might not have "invented" either product, but what they did do was open the door for everyone else. Thanks to the success of the iPhone and iPad, other companies were able to enter the market with their products.

I don't think it wasn't the matter they couldn't - they didn't even try and by the time the realized they better "try" it was to late.

I think Apple actually had a touch screen in the 80s. It bombed. It had a lady name, but I can't remember it now.

                          What I love about Apple:

I burned my CD collection to my iMac iTunes and then bought some iTune music.

I created a playlist and put it on my iPhone.

I get in my car and the car immediately starts playing my playlist on the way to work. Way home is the same.

I arrive at home and plug my earbuds in and can mow the lawn listening to the same playlist.

Afterwards I can crack open a beer and turn on my Klipsch stereo and my playlist will pick up on my AppleTV.

I enjoy a soothing evening in front of the Hi-Fi and can browse Shockernet on my iPad. Don't like a song, I just skip it from my seat.

Easy use, no viruses, full integration, long battery life.

                          It just works.

Oh, and it self recognizes. Set up was a matter of plugging it in, giving it a name, and entering a password.

Not being a techie, Apple integrated my life in a way that the PC couldn't.

Make a call, send a text, take a pic, listen to music, watch a movie. Buy an Apple product and it does all for you.

They all do that. In fact, my music, contacts, calendar, tv, xbox, email and more all cross platforms. Everything I get on my Androids are available on my iPads, tv's, pc and laptops. Everything I have is networked.

I really don't have a problem with whatever platform anyone uses, my original point was that I just don't get the whole cult following. What Apple showed off yesterday has been around for some time, but there are people that act like this is some new innovation. It isn't. Personally, I own Android, Apple and Microsoft products. It drives me nuts that Android people give me crap for having iPads and Apple people look down at my phone.

Hahaha Well I was basing my opinion off the very link you posted. I think it's quite arguable that the demographics for the Android user provide a richer target market. But that wasn't even what I was calling you out on. What I was calling you out on was this line: "You know how there are certain car brands who are stigmatized due to a disproportionate volume of their dealers prevalently targeting low income/bad credit clientele (meaning you don't want to buy that make of car because people might assume you fit that mold)? Android suffers badly from this consumer perception." That opinion is dead wrong.
