We have to get out of the group and then probably beat Belgium and that one Man United guy on their team with the weird hairdo. The winner of USA/Belgium will likely face the loser of the Falkland Island's War to get to the semifinal.

That would be Marouane Fellaini, he of the large hair. Bit of a difference between Group G and Group H. It's amazing that a win against Portugal almost certainly means advancement for the boys. Loved to see the passion from Jurgen today.

Klose ... sheesh showed my age with that one. Müller is the new Red Baron! The Germans did indeed cut Portugal down from the sky on one occasion. Watch for more of the same from Germany.

        Check out that umlaut!

It was good to see Felliani come in and play well. He has not been his at his best, this past year.

Belgium is really good. A couple other players of theirs I like, didn't see the pitch today either.

Mexico-Brazil was an amazing game. Ochoa is a stud. The most exciting 0-0 contest you can imagine. Go Aztecs!

Yes, Mexico's keeper has big brassy soccer ball sized testicles.

Those of you who know my past understand why I think this is humorous. I hope @JJClamdip: enjoys this video because as soon as I stopped laughing he is the first person I thought would appreciate the humor. I hope Ricky and others do as well.

Wow. Cannot believe how awful Spain looked in this Cup.

I didn't pick them to win (Germany, for those that GAF), but I did have them in the Semis.

Chile has seemed to perfect the art of time-wasting.

                      Told ya.

Now on to Australia/Netherlands. If you didn't watch this game you missed one of the best of the tournament. And Australia's Cahill may have had the goal of the tournament. Certainly it's the best I have seen so far. I won't go so far as to say the Dutch got lucky, but the Aussies gave them all they could handle and then some.

No doubt, @Kung Wu:. A very entertaining game and for me Cahill's goal is the goal of the tournament so far. I really felt Australia deserved a point and it was disappointing to see them lose.

Nothing flashy today, but the first 2 games should be very entertaining. Japan v Greece late? Eh.....but I could watch Honda play pretty much any day of the week.

Good point. They did deserve that point. Australia probably could have made it out of a few other groups the way they are playing. The Netherlands and Chile are just too good though.

I can't opine. The only game I have missed this entire World Cup so far was Colombia vs Greece, so I don't know how good Greece is. Japan looked okay against Ivory Coast, and, yes, Honda looked fantastic. Just not sure how much depth Japan has. At least their keeper is salty.

One question @WuDrWu: ... can the USA hold Germany to less than a 4 goal differential and at least draw with Portugal? I am actually feeling decent about both prospects. Coach Klinsmann is a stud.

Portugal has already lost Pepe to the red, and Christiano Ronaldo's status is up in the air bc of injury. I've read he left training early. If Portugal's bags are packed already the US should very well be able to atleast get a point.
Germany won't need to beat the US after they handle Ghana. If all the US needs to do is avoid giving up 4 goals Klinnsman will start a defensive lineup and park the bus. I like our chances of advancing at this point.

IMO, Jürg doesn't have much choice but to start a defensive lineup with Altidore out. They are talking about him possibly returning, but honestly I'd rather have a 100% fit Aron starting than an 70% fit Jozy, ya know? Our best chance to score will be off set plays and corners.

If we draw with Portugal we need to keep Germany from smoking us. If our midfield doesn't value the ball and continues to cough it up like they did against Ghana in the second half we absolutely could get smoked by more than 4 points to Germany. We were SO fortunate that Ghana couldn't even finish a happy meal that last game.

Brooks finishes the one header chance we have and Ghana puts 4-5 just over the crossbar. Very fortunate Ghana didn't equalize much sooner.
After 3 players had hamstring problems last game I'm a little concerned with our next game being in the humidity of the Amazon.
Bradley needs to do better. We can't lose the posession battle by 20 percent and expect these 2 teams to not finish their chances.
