1. The first three buildings in Bardo’s innovation campus could come out of the ground next year, beginning with work on an experiential engineering building in the first quarter of next year.
2. Why start with engineering? The program is rapidly evolving at WSU, with about 300 new students enrolled this year, new faculty added and new courses outside traditional engineering, such as computer engineering and computer science. Twenty-two engineering faculty have been added in the past year and more are expected in the coming months.

Wichita State unveils high-tech trading center inside business school
I have seen articles published on this throughout the State, including KC, Topeka, Lawrence, and Hutch.
The center comprises a renovated 800-square-foot room with a 60-foot-long digital financial ticker that runs along the ceiling, five flat screen monitors on the walls that display live market data and television channels, and 30 PC workstations with two screens each that provide students with real-time financial data.
Bardo said the trading center fits with WSU’s strategy of preparing students to have the knowledge and skills to immediately enter the workforce upon graduation.
Through the Applied Technological Advancement Institute (ATAI) new partnership with ANSWR, Wichita State students will be involved in the research of transforming Internet searching.
A gift from the estate of Earl and Terri Youngmeyer will give researchers at Wichita State University access to a 4,600-acre working ranch in the Flint Hills.

3.1% growth in enrollment, 15,003 students, and new WSU record for total credit hours because 73% of students are now full-time. 18% increase in enrollment from high school seniors enrolling in college for the first time.
Enrollment at Wichita State University for fall 2014 is 15,003 students, an increase of 3.1 percent compared to fall 2013, according to the Kansas Board of Regents. Total student credit hours are also the highest in WSU history.
