Basically, it's a mixture of ground beef, potatoes (small chunks), and peas. The ingredients are enclosed in a soft shell using toothpicks to keep it closed. Then deep fried. They are awesome! But they are EXTREMELY greasy.
Sounds like a Natchitoches meat pie.
