    Interesting. Maybe they are trying a strategy where you get to read a few articles to get you hooked and then try and nail ya? And using cookies to keep track?

      I remember them putting something in the paper about the digital edition saying that they would provide limited access to kansas.com. I had assumed that meant they would implement something like what you posted where you can read so many articles before they require a subscription.

        The easy way to deal with it then in Internet Explorer (8 and 9) would be just do this:

        1) click the gear on the right side of your brower
        2) select Safety --> InPrivate Browsing
        3) go to Kansas.com
        4) Read your articles as normal and once you get the pop-up, just close that browser window and go back to step 1.

        This way you never have to delete cookies.
