Risk has been upgraded to Moderate risk. The greatest threat is straight-line winds (80+ mph) from Squaw line/bow echo line moving thru.

Photo gallery of Bartlesville damage courtesy of KJRH 2 News

Much less structural damage shown, outside of large trees and such landing on houses/cars. But there were a lot of large trees down or uprooted.

There were tornados and strong storms south, east, and north of us. If the system and ingredients had been set up about 100 miles further west, we might well have been in the thick of it. Both the category 4 and 5 zones produced tornados, just not in the exact ICT area. Glad we had that cloud cover all day yesterday, it probably made a difference in how much fuel the approaching storm could gather.

I thought the precautions were prudent yesterday. It was set up to be a bad scene. Luckily, that didn't all come together around a super populous area, or really at all as much as it could have.

Think of it like buying insurance. You buy the insurance not so you can use it, but because buying the insurance means you won't need it.

One positive is that I know a lot of Wichita folks can now cross 'Clean Out Garage' off their TODO list.

We didn't want any of the bad stuff. We didn't get it here. Good.

It was a swing and a miss as it usually is with Wichita weather personalities. With clouds and highs in the mid to upper 60s most of the day yesterday, I knew there was no chance locally. I knew Wichita had shields anyway, as was evidenced by the split in the small line and the reformation of the same east of Wichita. The clincher was the cancellation and closing of so many things at 1 o'clock yesterday (like buying 8 gallons of milk and 6 loafs of bread, snow shovels and ice melt for the impending winter storm heading our way). I knew we'd be lucky to just get some rain, which we didn't.

I wonder how many insurance notices went out to Wichita residents yesterday about the increase in insurance rates because of "name your storm here" that were followed up with "nevermind."

Was watching Reed Timmer's channel on YouTube last night. One of the chasers followed the storm into Barnsdall but we didn't see much as he got out and helped with search and rescue.

Reed was following a lot of rotation in western Oklahoma but not sure if any touched down. A few looked like they might have, but a lot of that system appeared to be rain wrapped.

I think someone else already mentioned it, but Bartlesville may have gotten lucky as it appeared to 'only' hit the southeast side. The debris cloud definitely enlarged though when it got there.

I'm not sure we even got a drop of rain at my place, but I'll take that over twisters at my place any day.

There was a thin line of storms starting to form west of Wichita around 5 pm. But those really never developed much and as they approached Wichita the split apart with some going south of Wichita and some going north. Oklahoma had some pretty good storms going to our south as otherrs have mentioned. Then a line of storms from Omaha south throught the eastern portion of Kansas curving back to OKC reformed and backfilled although never threatening the Wichita area. That is currently still sitting right on the eastern border of Kansas with a southern tail curving back to OKC. Looks like that will be moving through Northern Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa and Minnesota tonight. Not sure about any severe weather those storms but may be dumping a lot of rain as it seems to be slow moving and quite a line from OKC up to the Canadian border.

Perhap what has happend to our east and south this evening is what they anticipated for us but moved on east of us before it really started to form and build.

Could do with out the 'nados, hail and wind but would have liked some wet stuff.

Seeing the videos coming in from Barnsdall. Not quite Greensburg-like, but close.
