I would advise all those looking to enter the world of gambling to think twice. All degenerate gamblers who've gone on to lose their homes, families, jobs, etc., started out dabbling.
Consider the following: In all forms of organized gambling, the gambler has a negative expectancy. Translated: the longer you play, the more you lose.
What hooks folks are the variances around the mean; otherwise known as good/bad luck. There is no such thing as luck (of course), just a statistical explanation for what feels like it.
Randomness of outcome is an "eternal mystery" that can wreck the human mind. We were not designed/evolved to think in probabilities.
Please save the personal anecdotes and/or the story about the guy who's a "successful professional gambler".
You'll have better odds making it to the NBA (at your current age).
