Loyalty doesn’t exist by either party—employee or employer. Employees want what they feel they are worth. Employers want to keep labor costs as low as possible. This is true anywhere you go. I think Hill is being overpaid, more power to him though getting that money.

Seems like pretty good compensation with a 1st (29th), 2nd (5oth), 4th round and then 4th and 6th in 2023.
The year Mahomes was drafted, the no. 2 and 3 in value so far in their career was 30th pick (T.J. Watt) and Alvin Kamara (3rd round pick). In 2016 the best players so far was a 4th and 5th round (Prescott, Hill). Draft is crapshoot, but Chiefs seem to be pretty good scouting department. They also free up cap space to fill some holes.

However, no other team wanted to draft him. Everyone in the media and NFL was ready to burn him at the steak when more accusations came out.
The Chiefs took a chance on him. The Chiefs stood by him during his rough times. The Chiefs developed him into a true WR, not just a return specialist and gadget guy.
KC made Tyreek into the player that he is. I don’t know if that happens, if he was with any other organization.
I congratulate him on his contract. I hope he will be smart with his generational wealth.
I won’t wish him any injury or illness, but I don’t have to wish him any playing success either. The Assman

The Jets never offered a first round pick for Hill, much less a top ten pick. Tyreek wanted paid at the very top level at his position. Good for him. KC wasn't going to hamstring their future for him. Good for them. The Raiders have up a 1 and 2 for D. Adams. Chiefs got a 1, 2, 4, 4, and 6. The last two being in the 2023 draft. The only way to get value out of him was to trade him. Hated to see him go but would have hated more to see him stay at $30 mil/season.Go Shocks!

The Fins offered the 29(late 1st), 50 (mid 2nd), and (approx. 150th I think ) 4th Rd.
Very similar imo.

Hill then saw he was worth at least what Adams was paid, which was too rich for KC, who then authorized Hill to seek a trade. The Jets and Fins both were in the ball park for Hill, and the Chiefs came to an mutual agreement with both teams. It was then up to Hill. My understanding is that Miami sweetened the deal one more time to 30 Million, and Chiefs/Hill pulled the triggerGo Shocks!

Happiness and success trump money. Maybe I'm in the minority in my thinking. If I'm a professional athlete and getting paid top dollar, I'm going to want to be in a situation to win over getting an extra couple of million. We see some guys in sports who feel the same and others that don't mind losing as long as they've maximized their earnings. I've already heard MVS state that he turned down more money than KC offered because he'd rather win. He's not Hill, but nobody is. But you don't have to be Hill to have success and the Chiefs can have success without Hill.
The Chiefs will be better off without Hill than Hill will be without the Chiefs. Tua will limit his playmaking ability. But Hill also now lives somewhere where at least half of his games won't be taxed at the state level so he'll keep a little more of it. So he has that going for him.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
