The problem with the NFL is that you could call a penalty every play for something. Easy for the refs to control a game and fix it depending on what the league wants.

That was clearly a personal foul by the receiver, and not just your average offensive pass interference 10 yard penalty. That single play dictated the rest of the game, clearly. There was no other time the Bengals moved the ball, that I remember (I've slept since then). But as I've stated already the Bengals run D was tough and more than up to the task. They deserve a lot of credit for that, and I'm not taking anything away from their performance other than they deserved to be there.Last edited by ShockingButTrue; February 14, 2022, 07:08 PM.

I'd like to see that play in real time instead of super slow mo. He had both hands around Kups waist/hips as he's trying to make his move. I could imagine in real time that looks like the defender grabbing and holding him back in order to make the play. I also have no idea where the official that threw the flag was positioned. That matters too.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

The NFL announced that Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley has been suspended indefinitely for betting on games during the 2021 season. The suspension will run through the end of the 2022 season at least.
Are we sufficiently naive to think he’s the only one? He’s simply the first one to be caught.

I know we're in NFL 2022 now, but the Chiefs are apparently shopping Tyreke Hill after contract extension talks have apparently failed. Seeking at least two first round picks. Sounds like it's down to Miami and NYJ. Big shakeup of one of the top teams in the NFL.
No Chiefs fan wants to see this happen, but I think from a performance standpoint, this would hurt Hill more than the Chiefs. He's a unique talent and has the perfect system and QB for his talents now. Pat can make a good receiver better and he still has Kelce and now JuJu. Grabbing a top 10 pick to grab and edge rusher this year and finding more WR talent in FA or the draft and the Chiefs could still be in pretty good shape while the Phins and Jets will still be struggling to become playoff teams.
No matter what, this is going to be interesting.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Been some news in the booth as well. Troy Aikman and Joe Buck are leaving Fox and will be doing Monday Night Football for ESPN. Amazon won the rights to air Thursday night football games and tried to get Aikman for it along with Al Michaels, but were only able to get Michaels. Mike Tirico will be taking over for Michaels on Sunday nights on NBC.

I think the return they got was WAY below what they should have accepted.
Sounded like the Jets were willing to give up the 10th pick and some; why would they accept the 29th pick?
I guess Tyreek wanted just the $$$ (and I don’t blame him). The Assman

Sounded like the Jets were willing to do everything possible, but it came down to where Hill wanted to play, and he chose Miami. I do not like the compensation they got. At least the 10 pick could have given them someone who could step in right away and contribute. Picking 29 and 30 isn't really a bonus and the later picks are just ugh. I figured they'd at least get one of next years first round picks from Miami (they have 2).
Hill gets his money, but he'll be chasing passes from Tua. Not sure what this does for his career. Will be curious to see what the Chiefs do with the extra 20M this frees up. Valdez-Scantling is in town and there have been some OBJ rumors in the past.
As far as MNF goes, Buck and Aikman pretty much guarantee I will only watch the Manning's broadcast. I can't think of a worse duo in the booth. Aikman might be more tolerable if he wasn't next to Buck, who just makes everything unwatchable.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

I know the NFL is a business; both for the teams and the players. However, I feel like the Chiefs stuck their necks out for Tyreek both when he was drafted AND when he was accused of child abuse.
The organization stood by his side and showed him loyalty. Instead of taking a little less $$$ for KC helping make him a rich and successful man, it was more important to him to be the highest paid WR for a few months.
Agian, business is business. That being said, people and organizations can still be judged for the actions they take. The Assman

Good luck Tyrek fighting for a wildcard spot. I am sick of these athletes providing the lip service "I compete for championships." Bulls h i t. Tell it like it is..."I am competing for dollars." Tyrek leaves a culture he knows and entering one he doesn't. If you need $25M rather than $19M to put your head on your pillow at night, go for it. MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING PEOPLE.
