I know MLB has been criticized for it. With expanded rosters late in the season it's easy for bad teams to justify playing the young guys who have been added so that they can get some MLB evaluations and experience. With that said, there are some teams who when playing a team in contention will still play their main roster for the integrity of the sport, but not all.
