It's really kind of sad. Megan Rapinoe could have probably done 10000% more good for her 'causes' if she would have celebrated being an American and bringing the country together. Had she made statements praising being an American and loving the country that gave her the chance to live out her dream, she not only would have galvanized all of the country behind the USWNT, she probably would have become the face of the LGB community and brought it even closer to the mainstream. Instead, she took her instant fame and decided to immediately take a **** on the country and parrot ignorant tropes regarding women's pay and what not. All so that she could cater to the small minority of the population and media that desires to be perpetual victims, instead of conquerers.

Her “cause” is to destroy America and rebuild it as something else. To support America would be antithetical.

I really don't think that is her cause. The destroy America cause is only known by those at the top. Megan is one of the useful idiots that the leaders dupe on an hourly basis. Rapinoe wanted more money and adoration. She wanted to expand her brand in that direction. Her mistake was calculating that the vocal minority that rail against America make up anywhere near a majority, because she travels in the media bubble that gives her a false sense of reality. She is just being played, and has been brainwashed like many, many, many popular figures.

The 400m hurdles, men and women, took the spotlight. It was cool to see the men's high jump share the gold between the Italian and Qatari just moments before the Italian greeted his countryman after winning the 100m.

I don't know if anyone is watching the Peacock feed or not, but I enjoy the 2 guys from American Ninja Warrior that host the morning (our morning) show, Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila. They work well together while not taking anything too seriously. And they've had former gymnast Laurie Hernandez as a sidekick sometimes and the 3 of them are like kids in a candy store. It's honestly enjoyable to watch people have fun without fear of retribution and just doing what comes natural. It's been nothing earthshattering, by any means, it's just 3 people having fun doing what they do. Good stuff.

Haven't seen it mentioned here, but if you haven't seen Tamyra Mensah-Stock win Gold and her subsequent celebration and interview, go find it. It will renew your faith in the American spirit.

There have been several great Olympic moments, as there always are, but her's is as good as it gets.

Courtney Frehrichs blew up the 3000 Steeple with about 3 laps to go, only to be caught in the last half lap, but she (barely) held on for silver in a really good race. Emma Coburn, in the lead pack for much of the race, fell apart late and finished more than 40 seconds behind the winner. Courtney grew up in Missouri and went to UMKC. The look on her face was priceless, she was thrilled to win a medal.
