As a graduate of Wichita North I can say I saw this coming last year. Always liked the fact that the school honored the native americans in it's depictions of native americans on the bridge on 13th and the images of native americans incorporated into the achitecture of the school itself. Hopefully they still pick a name that retains the proud images that are portrayed. I would like to see either Braves or Warriors adopted. PS I am old enough to have grown up watching the Wichita Braves play baseball here and was the proud owner of a Wichita Braves tee shirt that looked like a game jersey. Wore that thing until my mom threw it away because it had more holes than fabric left. Go Shocks.

Just my opinion, I think Redskins is different than Chiefs, Braves, or the names of specific tribes, or Vikings, Packers, Fighting Irish, Celtics, Jayhawks, Cowboys, Cornhuskers, Fighting Swedes, Quakers, Aggies, Red Raiders, Rebels, Sooners, Volunteers, Hoosiers, Cavaliers, Golden Knights, Purple Aces, Knicks, Yankees, Dutchmen, Cajuns, Gaels, Highlanders, Plainsmen, Trojans, Vandals, Spartans, Titans, Blue Aces, Saints, Rail Roaders, Teutons, Mule Skinners etc.
