That's what I use and I have zero issues with it. Get all of the typical sports channels and a pretty good on demand section and some good original content if you like that sort of thing. I pretty much get every channel I want but maybe one, outside of the bullshit that is Bally's. They've recently gone to unlimited DVR space which is nice. That 40 hours used to get a little tight from time to time.

Thanks, Sub! I have Directv Stream and it's just too expensive. I get Bally and all the sports channels but It's just too much, especially for the off-season.

I had Hulu + with Live TV and generally liked it. They did not have Bally Sports San Diego which was the only way for me to get Padres games so I had to switch to DirectTV Stream. I took it in the shorts but needed the Padres games so I succumbed to their extortion.

DTV knows they have you if you want the RSNs. Or NFL Sunday Ticket. It’s basically cable without the cable box. Price is darn near the same as I was paying for cox.

Not to get anyone's hopes up, but as of a couple of months ago, there was talk about making new ALF content that would involve the original creators of the show and the Shout! Factory who has acquired the distribution rights of the original series.

              Long live Gordon Shumway!

                - looks like Amazon renamed IMDB.tv to Freevee.

                - Sinclair announced the other day they will be launching Bally Sports+ soon. Cost will be $189.99 annually or $19.99 per month. Initial release will include the ability to watch KC Royals games.

I noticed that name change. I don't like it.

The Bally Sports announcement hasn't been received all that well where I've seen it discussed on social media. It will be interesting to see how well it goes over when actually released.

Hey if I can ditch Directv Stream and go back to Hulu and just add Bally + for Padres games that would save me bookoo bucks.

Same here. I'd ditch DirectTV Stream and go with Bally Sports+ for the Royals games and Sling Blue to cover the other main channels I watch.

Anybody have Starlink for internet? Kind of a segue, I know. It is not cheap, but I like that you aren't dealing with one of the sleazy cable companies - I'll pay a premium for just that. More importantly, they just green-lit the ability to take your hardware with you when you go out for a week in BFE mountains/woods/wherever. That might not be you, but it is me, and I kinda-sorta need to stay connected to some degree to my business. Having satellite internet, instead of trying to find or boost a cell signal in BFE, is worth its weight in gold to me.

Is it actually available here in Wichita?

Oh yeah. It is satellite-based so it works everywhere they've designed their system to cover - so hypothetically everywhere. It definitely covers the continental US. The restrictions are with the volume of satellites they currently have up (as opposed to the total planned amount they're steadily working towards), and how many folks have already signed up in the little octagon coverage areas they break the geography down into. A lot of areas you are put on a wait list until someone cancels service, or I would assume more likely they get more satellite capacity in the air.

My particular part of NE Doo-Dah is open and available right now for new subscribers, but much of Wichita proper is wait list-ed. Pay the $600 fee for the hardware kit, get it installed and setup, and then it is $100/mo, for I THINK like around 100-200 Mbps. Probably sounds goofy to you, but I don't so much care about the speed (past a certain point far below 100-200). It is the portability of service to BFE that sounds like manna from heaven.

What are the upload speeds like when in BFE? If they are reasonable, this might be a great solution for my uncle's ranch near Independence.

Looks like upload speeds are in the 15-25 range. Didn't know that. I'm just sharing what the googles just told me.

It is definitely a game changer for anyone who lives in a rural or lesser-populated area.
