Well since the offseason is over and our 1st preseason game starts Friday night, I figured I would make a new thread.

I guess the Chiefs don't have anything to lose on him even though he didn't play any last year due to back problems and failed a physical for the Raiders last week.

To me its a Low risk/ High reward signing, if hes healthy and motivated hes one of the better tackles in the league and hes only 25

This guy is a big dude, 6'9" 340lbs. Plus, I wouldn't say the Raiders have the best judgement when it comes to talent. I agree, low risk, high reward.

I agree. If he's healthy it is great pickup. But the indications are he is not healthy.

I’d say the very likely reason why Gaither was not signed was his injured back. He missed all of last season with a back injury. Friday night, Oakland coach Hue Jackson, who coached Gaither in Baltimore, said they wanted to make sure he was healthy.

What did they pay thim? If they didn't pay him very much, what do they have to lose? They can always cut him after seeing what he can do or maybe put him on the disabled list, etc. protecting him for later. Don't know the rules but again, if they didn't give him a big payout, it may work out in the long run. He seems to have a lot of natural talent.

Half our starters didnt even play and the ones that did played 1 series, while TB starters played almost the whole 1st half.

I loved how most of our rookies played. Especially Justin Houston. He has the potential to be very good opposite Tamba.

and Baldwin made an insane catch, and I though Stanzi looked decent considering the circumstances, that he literally only had 1 to 2 seconds to throw

The starters were in for 3 series on offense and did nothing. TB first string went against our 2nd for a while. I'm not worried about that. Some youngsters didn't look bad. Would like to see the first string actually move the ball a bit next week.

Actually we had 1 decent drive starting until Jackie Battle fumbled, hopefully he wont be on this years roster
