Well out at Washington on Friday night there was another high-level 5k where some more fast times were set. Tennessee had a girl run around 15:40 so she has to be the favorite to win the title. Its hard to say in an event like the 5k because who knows how the pace will go. Both Aliphine and Tonya ran HUGE personal bests so who knows what their ceiling is. I don't think its a stretch to think they'll both be all-Americans (top-8) and I imagine any of those girls will have winning in mind when the race starts. Should be VERY exciting!

3 Shocker women will be competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships Friday:
La'Taish Brown - Long Jump
Aliphine Tuliamuk - 5k
Tonya Nero - 5k
All 3 ladies are ranked in the top-10 and have the potential to finish high. With 2 girls in the 5k dare I say a national championship is a slight possibility?

The long jump started at 4:15. I have no update.
The 5k, where WSU could score and finish in the top 25 as a team if they do, starts at 7:05.
Hopefully that race will be covered as there is no long jump coverage so far.Comment

La'Taish Brown entered the LJ with the 9th longest leap in D1 this season.Comment

Unfortunately, La'Taish couldn't recapture the distance she had in the MVC and could only muster a 19'11 1/2 for a 13th finish.
The event was right there for her. A repeat of the MVC would have put her 2nd.

A pedestrian pace. This is going to be a tactical race. I don't think that bodes well for either of our runners.
