Interestingly, we have been seeing some high-level officials in our crews lately. Bryan Enterline officiated tonight and has worked the Final Four. Cameron Inouye officiated our Northern Colorado game last Friday. Then Sunday, she was doing the Tennessee-Texas game. Both work in the WNBA.

Cameron Inouye did a fine job last home game. The other two refs, not so much. Would have been more frustrating if the Shocks were playing better. As it was, good calls or bad made little difference in that game.

Sounds like we got a fair game called on the road tonight which is not always the case.

Great road win! I think most everyone should be pleased at how this team is coming along. The freshmen are already positive contributors. I was hoping Morgan would be more of a scoring threat. Her shooting percentages have been very poor compared to her Juco days. If she gets back into her old groove, and with the addition of Alicia soon, I believe good things are ahead of these young women.

I agree with you about Morgan. I think she is still adjusting to Division I ball and can be a much more efficient scorer.

As for Alicia, it could be a little while before she is ready to go, so we will need to find scoring elsewhere for the time being. Dannah did a fine job tonight in that role.

One thing to add, since getting our first double digit lead at the 11:29 mark of the 2nd half, the closest we let Kent State get was 8 points, and most of the time the lead stayed in double digits. That is very impressive by a young team on the road.

I was very pleased with the way the Ladies handled Haliegh's foul trouble early in the 2nd half, especially after the way they played without Haliegh against Northern Colorado.

Haliegh left with her 3rd foul at the 19:04 mark of the second half with the Shocks hanging on to a tenous 32-31 lead.

When she returned at the 13:07 mark the Shocks were up 46-40 which Haleigh immediately stretched to 49-40 by knocking down a trey.

Jody apparently felt that gave her room to rest and protect Haliegh for some addition minutes and she immediately pulled Haliegh back out at the 12:37 mark.

When Haliegh returned at the 8:57 mark the Shocks had added one point to the lead at 53-43. Again Haliegh immediately drilled another 3 to strecth the lead to 56-43 and as TMH pointed out the Shocks maintained the lead for the final 9 minutes. A rested Haliegh was able to play the final 9 minutes for the Shocks.

During Haliegh's 9:34 on the bench in the 2nd half the Shocks outscored the Golden Flashes 18-12.

Shows a lot of growth from one game to the next for the Shocks. Hopefully, this will prove to be a big confidence booster and this growth can be sustained.

                  The good:

                  Chynna 4-5 FG, 4-4 FT, 1Blk, 1 Steal

Marisah 1-2 FG, 4-4 FT, 7 Assists, 6 Rbds, 4 Steals (More on the rebounding later)

Morgan 2-4 FG, 1 Blk, 0 TO's in 15 minutes (Nothing to write home about but would seem to indicate Morgan was playing a little more under control and not forcing things as she has been prone to do)

                  Haliegh 8-16 FG (5-9 3-Ptrs), 3-3 FT, 1 Blk, 2 Steals (another All-Conference performance)

Jessica 2-5 FG for 5 points, but 3 assist to only 1 turnover in 21 minutes is more than acceptable.

Dannah 3-8 FG (all treys) for 9 points, most in key situations.

Jazimen 2-2 FG plus a team high 8 rebounds and 2 blocks while playing 29 minutes. Her best effort of the year.

Shocks 50.0% FG, 42.9% 3-Pt FG and 84.6% FT shooting as a team.

                  The Bad:

23 Turnovers to 15 assists. Marisah had 9 turnovers. Need to cut that down.

Shocks out-rebounded 36-31 and outscored 16-4 on second chance points. Inside game will be a work-in-progress for the Shocks this year.

                  The Good and The Bad:

Marisah Henderson at 5"2" and Sheena Johnson at 5'5" are the Shocks leading rebounders for the season to date.
