We're waiting on you to figure that out also, so you can 'splain it to the rest of us novices.

What I do know is that when you try something over and over and over with the same results it might be time to think about a change in approach.
Two weekends ... two conference games ... two times we have lessened our chances to win the game ... two losses.

So they don't break down before the conference tournament? The Shocks have recent experience in this area ... very, very recent.

I guess to answer my own question, it might be that during the summer, you have all week to recover? I can't think of any other reason.

Mite be possible to pitch both games or all pitchers mite be a little better rested if they didnt lift weights and run their butts of in between traveling games. If that makes any sense

KK gets the Braves 1, 2, 3 in the first. 1-0 after 1.

Bradley has a girl named Creighton.

              That's funny.

Kasha works around a first batter single getting a sac bunt and 2ks.

                1-0 going to the 3rd.

Boy, we're going to have to address our baserunning mistakes. Nothing wrong with being aggressive, and I know they said at the start of the season that this team would steal a lot of bases.

But you simply cannot have someone picked off 3rd, when you have 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.

Fortunately, Kara pulls someone's butt out of the fire by hitting her 2nd home run in as many at bats.

                  3-0 Shocks.

Busted squeeze play comes to mind. But maybe just a plain, ol' pickoff in which case you are absolutely right.

Kasha gives up a two-run triple in the bottom of the fourth.

But in the fifth, the Shocks execute a double steal with Kiersten scoring on the front end, and Kara getting the steal of second. The speed worked out that time - Kiersten's, definitely not Kara's. :)

Kasha works around a lead-off double in the bottom half, and Shocks lead 4-2 after five.

Interestingly, Pooch walks the Bradley three-hole hitter with a runner on third and two out (she had doubled earlier) to get to the clean up hitter who had singled earlier. Fortunately, she flied out.

A home run and a bunt single lead off the sixth for Bradley, but Kasha holds the damage to just the one run.

                        Shocks, 4-3 after six complete.

With runners at first and third and two outs, the Shocks try another double steal. But Caley, pinch running for Heather, is nabbed before Kara can score from third.

On to the bottom of the last.

A leadoff single, but Kasha starts a double play ... and then Wegmann is intentionally walked again!!

                          This is more than interesting!

                          Single, single, tie game.

A double steal, but the inning ends with a fly out, and we go to extras.

Kasha has stumbled home a bit in the sixth and seventh the past two days. We shall see.

A walk, sac bunt, fly out to right ... and the runner scores on the throw??!?

Someone will have to explain it to me. It was offline and the runner kept on going? It was deep to right and whoever was making the relay went to sleep?

And now a clarification on Live Stats - "scored on the throw scored on an error by cf, unearned." Lindsie knocked Kiersten down? Got me.

                            No matter, we lose 5-4.

We start the Valley with a 2-4 mark against two of the weaker teams. I think '72 may be right - now that we are behind on the tiebreaker with those two teams, making the tournament has become even more difficult.

Someone is going to have to explain to me why we are intentionally walking the tying run with nobody on.

Unless this gal is Barry Bonds it makes no sense.

We do not appear to be a team well prepared, well disciplined or well coached at this point.

Wow! Another tough come from ahead late game loss. As I said previously, I wonder if the team is in a state of mind where they almost expect something to go wrong late to cause them to lose games. In other words they lack confidence.

Coach Pooch's decision making is that of a Coach who knows he has very little margin for error and he is taking chances maybe he would not if he had more confidence in his team. The team can probably sense this lack of confidence by the Coach which may contribute to their own lack of confidence.

I have no doubt the girls are giving it everything they have, but unless you really believe in yourself and your teammates that my not be enough.

OTOH, after re-reading my post I think I am full of cow chips!
