Kasha has another HBP to lead off the bottom of the seventh. For me, it is her game to lose - she has to learn to fight through these situations and come out good on the other side.

Foul out, fly out, caught stealing. We go to the eighth, still 1-1.

And how many has she got into the outfield?

?? Tiffany? We had a runner on second, we needed a base hit, not just a fly ball. Or do I misunderstand the question?

Kiersten leads off the eighth with a walk, and the 3B fumbles Kara's sac bunt - two runners on with no outs. Gert moves them over with her sac bunt. JamieH and Bobo have a chance to deliver.

Ouch! Kiersten leaves early on Jamie's fly ball to left - DP!!

Jamie H. flies to left, but Kiersten called out for leaving 3rd early attempting to score on the Sac Fly and the Shocks blow a great chance to take the lead.

I hope this was a shallow fly ball that she tried to "get a jump" on, because she is much too fast to leave early on any normal fly ball.

                Single, sac, pop up, IBB.

Then an infield single to Kara, but she throws out the runner trying to score from second to end the inning.

On to the ninth, tied 1-1.

I wonder how close that play at the plate was to end the 8th? Whew!

Do they use a tiebreaker at some point in NCAA softball?

With one out, JamieS gets her second single of the day, but two outs follow.

In the bottom half, SIU-E gets a walk and single with one out. After a strike out, a single scores the game winner.

                      SIU-E, 2-1 (9).

This may have been Kasha's last inning anyway - she has conference games to pitch this weekend.

A tiebreaker rule is available, but it is typically not used until the 10th inning. Conference rules or tournament rules may dictate another inning or (most likely in the case of a conference) may dictate that it is not used at all.

The rule says that the batter scheduled to bat ninth in that half-inning is placed at second base to begin the half-inning.

Kasha pitched a very good game. All we can ask of any pitcher is to keep us in it and give us a chance to win. She certainly did that. I am surprised that we didn't hit better. We will probably break out with about 10 runs in the next game.
On another note, I would not want to be anywhere near Pooch after those players got called out for leaving early. You can probably hear the F Bombs all the way from Wichita.

Game 2 Lady Shocks have 4 errors in 2 innings that leads to 4 runs. Down 4-1 after 2. Looks like Breezy geting the ground balls but we cant handle em

Did QP say 10 runs or 10 errors? Three unearned runs - talking about an unhappy coach ...
