And of course there are 4 other players who have commited to play here, but will not be here yet
And the source of this information is ... ? One or some of the girls not coming back? The coach's radio show? Some rumor mill? A media announcement that I missed?

If true and there are (ex-)players who want to complete their education here, I hope AD Eric Sexton and President Don Beggs have the decency to give them a "university scholarship" so they can do so.

I understand the personnel needed upgrading, but using a "slash and burn" policy to do it ... I don't know.

Upgrading personnel is a must, but it's not like there aren't already a TON of spots open to do so. We're supposed to return 6 or 7? And the women are allowed 15. I'd hope if anyone is leaving at this point it's because they want to. Otherwise next year could be just as bad if not worse. Having those familiar with the system goes a long way even if they aren't the ones getting lots of PT.

And didn't Val log quite a few minutes this year? There seemed to be a number of games where she played the most. With her, conditioning isn't an issue and she's not stupid. And she's the only shooter we really have at this point. Not that Marissa and Haliegh can't shoot, but that's what Val does.

        Unfortunately, this is not rumor.
The following people have something in common:
        1) Jennifer DeGarmo
        2) Kayla Rice
        3) Carly Bacondi (transfer from Idaho)
        4) Frannie Vathauer
        5) Samantha Smith
        6) Jadhon Kerr
        7) Shantel Pointer
        8) Jacie Hoyt
        9) Val Siemens

Here are a few questions for people interested in Wichita State athletics:

        1) Given the fact that Coach Adams led Murray State to its first ever NCAA appearance, why is it that the Murraly State message board had only ONE post indicating that she would be missed? There should have been many posts indicating that the community was upset at the idea of losing her after only 11 months (similar to Bob Huggins at Kansas State, maybe), one would think.

        2) What are the stories behind the NINE student-athletes listed above leaving Wichita State women's basketball?

I have held my tongue long enough...I will no longer be part of the cover-up.

Just noticed the smiley by Jacie Hoyt's name. It is supposed to be an "8".

            1) Maybe because Murray State has absolutely WBB fan support?

            2) I'm sure they vary, but a coach has to take responsibility for wins and losses. Sometimes people get their feelings hurt, but those people are completely forgotten when the Wins come.

It seems like you are emotionally involved, and have had the unfortunate experience of seeing how sausage gets made.

What they have in common is that they were recruited by Jane Albright. But perhaps your are driving at something else. (I don't think you are implying that Jane has been tampering with our players.)

Regarding your two questions I have no idea, but would be pleased to hear both sides of the story.

You have held your tongue long enough, but you are really not saying anything in a direct manner that is of any substance. A lot of hazy innuendo.

How have you specifically been part of the cover up? What exactly is being covered up? Who else is participating with you in this cover up?

              Inquiring minds want to know.

I know I am definitely out of the loop because I don't think I have ever heard of Carly Bacondi.

I understand Jadhon and Shantel movining on. That is probably in their best interests.

I agree with Sub re: Val. She was clearly our best perimeter threat.

Overall I am not a real big Jacie fan, but I don't think you could ever question her effort and Sub makes a good point about having players who know the system in the fold and Jacie will get better I think.

The thing with Val and Jacie is I'm not sure what their options are. If they transfer to another D-1 school they will have to set out a year and I think will only have one more year of eligibility under the 5 to complete 4 rule, although I'm not positive about that.

I hope the rumors are wrong and that Val and Jacie will be back. OTOH, I really have no reason to doubt LadyShocker or Trufan, although I have no info to substantiate these rumors either.

Actually Murray State has pretty decent WBB support with home attendance averaging 2,540 last year and 2,648 this year.

I don't want to get involved but I will say this.

We have to give credit, just like all Murray State fans do, to the coach who built the Murray State program, the one who recruited the players at Murray State, and the one whose players wanted to leave when the coach left to a new school - Joi Williams.

Joi just turned around a subpar UCF program and in two years has already won a C-USA championship and an NCAA bid.

Only having 3 players left was designed months ago. I think Adams can be successful winning games, I just don't agree with her methods.

Then again - I've never coached.

The thing is ... they stayed and did not bail when others did. They stayed when the new coach expressed her belief that Jane's players would not buy in to the new approach. Jacie verbally supported the new coach with quotes in news articles. They stayed ... and at the earliest opportunity, they are thrown under the bus. Are they great talents? Not really. But were they loyal? As far as I can tell. Does that count for something? It does in my book.

The other issue I have with all of this is that Marisah and Ashleigh are not great talents either! But they are seniors and were recruited by Jody? I don't know. At least Haleigh has a chance to be a player - right now she is a mini-Daria - athletic, limited basketball skills, lots of silly fouls. But she has time to improve.

                            I second the motion.

These eight new kids better be good - really stinkin' good. (I know this is not their making, but that is beside the point.) If they are, we will look back and say, "I didn't particularly like what she did, but it worked out." If they are not, ...

flyingMoose, excellent point about Jacie and Val.

They deserve to stay around if they want to, but why would you if you are told or sense that you are not really wanted.

I'm still holding out hope that Jacie and Val will be back, but I'm not real confident that will be the case.

I understand. But they are also playing the game to get a higher education. Back to my point that if it comes to it, I hope Messrs Sexton and Beggs have enough decency to do the right thing.
