When you make no effort to delve any deeper than comparing the records of two very different coaches in two very different situations, you are stirring a pot that doesn't need sitrred.
Honestly, how is Adams any better at this point than Albright? . . . .
I'm not sure we upgraded the program's future with Adams...I hope her recruits are as solid as some suggest because they are going to have to overcome her coaching.
Note Daria's quote. "I don't know how to really say it, but it's like (Adams) has opened up a whole new player within me," she said. "I wish I had more time with her to see if this is it or whether there's another player that's still in there that she could pull out. That's something I would like to see."

again, she has 9 players, what, 2 of them being hers? and is in her 1st year
but your right jester, we should probably just fire her now[/quote]
I don't recall saying fire her but I might be mistaken. She only has 9 players? Why didn't she bring in more than 2? Why didn't Schaus fire Jane earlier to get a coach in quicker to bring in more players? Sounds like apathy to me.
Sorry, when I criticized her caoching, I meant game coaching. I'm sure her practice plans and conditioning program are excellent.
Well clearly at this point you are seeing a problem that no other poster on the board sees. I am curious. Are you a season ticket holder? Have you attended all the home games? Any away games? As someone who often defended Coach Albright on this board (and still believes her coaching record speaks for itself), who is a season ticket holder for home games and who has attended two away games this year, I see a significant improvement in the program including the in-game coaching (with very limited options at coach Adams disposal).
You could be right, of course. Only time will tell. But at of now you are a minority of one on this thread.

I have missed 3 home games this year, so obviously I haven't seen every minute of play. I also realize depth and talent is a problem (wasn't her job to add talent this year) but I haven't been impressed with her coaching. Not trying to flame, just stating an opinion. I do hope she does a great job. It would be nice to see the ladies program make noise on the national level, especially with all of the instate talent.
If you have "watched" that many games this year, then it should be obvious to you the vast improvement in the players from last year to this year - maybe the win-loss record doesn't reflect it as much as you would like, but if you know anything at all about the game - the difference is easy to see.
There is just not that much talent left to be had in the late (Spring) signing period. Most of the talent has already been locked up by LOI in the early signing period (i.e. the four incoming freshman who signed LOI's with WSU in November).
There was a good discussion of this on the Men's board regarding Gregg Marshall's 1st year of recruiting including some good articles about this.
I thought Jody did fairly well picking up Marisah and Ashley from the JUCO ranks. They are not program makers, but they were pretty decent late signs.
The incoming class will give us the FIRST true look of recruiting under the Adams regime. We should be able to fully evaluate her recruiting in 2-3 years.

Skill wise, yes, they are better. I'm not sure they are tougher though and that goes a long ways at the college level. Perhaps Adams' class next year starts that trend.

yeah, that would be a great idea....adams should've panicked and signed 2 or 3 lower-tier players, wasting scholarships she could use on better players in the future
thanks for showing your lack of knowledge of the college game
Yeah, only lower-tier players are available in the spring. Talk about lack of knowledge.
why would she sign players who are obviously of a lower talent level (being left over after the signing period) just to fill out a roster with her and guffey's history of recruiting and the players they could fill with those scholarships once they get set in the program?!?
Why would they be of lower talent? Many players don't sign early because they are still making up their mind and some are still waiting for qualifying scores to come in. Not all late signees are devoid of talent - many wait. One of the top players in the nation, Lance Stevenson, out of NY, has not signed as of yet and is waiting to sign in April. He is still taking college visits.
Jester, it seems you think a coach can swoop in and in a matter of a week or two snag players that other schools have been recruiting for months or years.
It doesn't work that way. That late in the game, you only get leftovers or players who think they aren't getting the offers they should.
Kudos to Adams for not panicking and selling out the future for a couple more wins this year.
