Brummett throws, STRUCK HIM OUT! THE SHOCKERS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! AN UNBELIEVABLE STORY!

In the fourth, two freshmen combine for another Shocker run. Madison doubles and Ryleigh singles home her pinch runner, the first hit as a Shocker for Ryleigh. After Mackenzie singles, moving Ryleigh to second, HCKB makes another interesting move. With Ashley, a slapper, unlikely to drive home a run from second (there are two outs), she uses Cassidy as a pinch hitter. This plan doesn't work however. Oh well.

Shocks lead 3-0 as we go to the bottom of the fourth.

Houston gets another to make it 3-2 but both runs are unearned.

The Coogs get two unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner on third (she singled earlier in the inning) and two outs, Kelli drops a fly ball in left, scoring the run. That batter scored a following single.

Shocks lead 3-2 after four complete.

Kelli doesn't have much experience playing the outfield does she? Although that did not look like a particularly tough play.

@1972Shocker, are you still watching the LiveStream? Was Kelli's ball a "real" error or a tough chance that she should have caught?

EDIT: I didn't refresh before I asked. Got it.

With two outs in the fifth, Macklin and Paige single with Paige advancing to second on the throw to third. Madison then singles to drive home two more runs.

Shocks lead 5-2 as we go to the bottom of the fifth.

                      P-E-Double R-I-G-A-N thats Perrigan.

It's early but I like the way thid Shocker teams responds after the other team has scored.

It looked pretty routine to me but it might have been a spinner the way it came of the bat and no way to judge if their is any wind. I thought it was a real error.

The ball that got through Mackenzie at 3rd to lead off the inning was ruled a hit, and that was probably correct, but I have seen Mackezie handle tougher chances. So that was just one of those bad juju innings you have every now and then.

A foul out to left. That may not have been an easy play for an inexperienced outfielder.

Kelli with a nice running catch in foul terrtory for the 1st out in the 6th after the Houston lead off batter reached on a bunt single.

That bunt single and a walk got two runners on for the Cougars with one out, but Katie gets a strike out and pop up to end the sixth.

                              Shocks, 5-2.

Not a lot of swinging and missing going on in this game by either team but Katie got a big strike out on a swing and a miss on a full count for the 2nd out in the bottom of the 6th with runners on 1st and 2nd.
