Early in round 3 the Shocks have increased their team lead to 11 strokes. Taryn is still tied for first at even par.

The team leaderboard is again lagging the individual scorecards. Base on the individual scorecards after 9 holes in the books for all team members I have the Shocks at +5 on the round and +15 for the tournament. Indiana State is +7 on the round and +24 for the tournament and Bradley is +9 and +30.

Shocks up 12 with 12 total holes to play and 3 of those likely to be our throw away card. Put this one in the deep freeze.

Bryce Schoeder is in the clubhouse at +4 for the day. Good solid round from Bryce.

Taryn Torgerson has a 1 shot lead in the medalist race over 2 other golfers with 3 holes to play.

The Aces ace is in the clubhouse at -1. Taryn is going to need to finish even for a playoff or at least make a birdie to win. The 18th is a birdie hole for sure.

Do they have a play-off for medalist honors or do they just have co-medalists?

Katterhenry of Evansville birdied her last (the 10th) to pull into a tie with Taryn. Lemek of Bradley finished bogie-birdie to finish even for the tournament and can do no better than 2nd. The last is a 481-yard, par 5 that has yielded a number of birdies through out the tournament. Taryn birdied the hole yesterday, so she has a great chance to win the individual without a playoff.

                Playoff, I think.

Assuming she plays 16 and 17 in even par. She did bogey 16 on Sunday.

You are correct. Per the 2016 Championship Handbook:

Individual Tie. All individual ties for medalist honors shall be decided by a sudden-death playoff, at the conclusion of regular tournament play.

No playoff necessary. Taryn finishes birdie-par-par to capture medalist honors.

Congratulations to the Lady Shocks on the 13-stroke victory in the Valley Women's Golf Championship. Congratulations to Taryn Torgerson on winning medalist honors.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about the Shockers is that all 5 of their golfers finished 12th or better: Taryn Torgerson - 1st, Maria Alejandra Villalobos - 7th, Gavrilla Arya - T9th, Meghan Schuetz Jack - 1th and Bryce Schroeder - T12th.

Just a very consistent, strong team effort by the Lady Shocks.

WSU’s 20-over 884 at Harborside International Golf Center shattered the MVC mark of 899 by Southern Illinois in 2007. Second-place Indiana State carded an 897, followed by Bradley at 902.
