Julia Schiller falls in the #2 singles 3-6, 1-6.

      Match tied at 1-1.

I misspoke earlier about the Shocks losing the 1st set in 5 of 6 matches. Rebecca Pedrazzi appears to be in a 1st set tiebreaker at the #3 singles. That could be another pivotal game.

Update: Predrazzi loses the tiebreaker so KU did, in fact, win the 1st set in 5 of 6 matches.

Gabriela Porubin wins the 2nd set to send the #1 singles to a deciding 3rd set.

Update: Aleks Trifunovic falls in the #4 singles 2-6, 3-6 but Abby pulls out a solid win at #6 singles (6-4, 6-1) to square the match at 2-2. The Shocks are in trouble in #5 singles so it looks like it will be up to Gabriela and Rebecca at the #1 and #3 slots if they are going to come out with a win.

Shocks pulled it out 4-2. Sounds like they really fought hard to come back from those first set deficits.

Here's a recap from the KU site (nothing on GoShockers yet).

Impressive work by the Shocks to rally after dropping 5 out 6 first sets in the singles matches. Doubles point came down to a tiebreaker and the Shocks game back from 0-1 deficits to win 3 singles matches. Not surprising I guess when you have #21 vs #23.

The Shocks take on #46 New Mexico tomorrow at 1:00pm in Lawrence as they continue navigating a very challenging schedule this spring.

That is the highest ranking in school history.

Shocks follow up their win over SMU with a 7-1 win over UMKC. In the UMKC match the Shocks Gabriela Porubin and Rebecca Pedrazzi, who normally fill the #1 and #2 slots only played in the doubles and sat out the singles with everyone moving up 2 spots and Tana Thongsing and Summer Schlotterback seeding action at the #5 and #6 singles.

Shocks move to 14-3 on the season.

WICHITA, Kan. – The No. 13 ranked Wichita State women's tennis swept No. 50 SMU 4-0 and defeated UMKC 6-1 on Thursday to improve to 14-3 on the season.
