I think the answer to her being on the hot seat is clearly no. Like many other Coaches she would certainly entertain any offers or opportunities that she believes would advance her career. The Shocks could very well win their final 5 non-con games as the remaining non-con schedule eases up significantly. The Valley is not very good again this year so the Shocks should be competitive in the conference as well.

The Tuesday (Eastern Washington) pre-game article notes that Jyar is out with a concussion.

I don't know...maybe Boatright's first real move is a PR driven one, IF the record does not improve much.

The schedule appears to weaken significantly going forward. To date the 7 teams the Shocks have lost to have an average RPI of around 110. The one victory was against a team with an RPI of 348 (next to last in women's D-1 rankings).

The next 6 opponents have an average RPI of 258 plus includes one D-II opponent. In addition, the Shocks now have Rangie Bessard playing and should be getting Jyar Francis back shortly and Brittany Martin will be back in January. The Valley has a 30-54 record so far in D-1 games and has an average RPI around 190.

I can see the Shockers finishing at or a little above 0.500 for the year. A 5th place finish in the Valley seems to me to be a worst case scenario. They are young and inexperienced but not devoid of talent. They should get better as the year progresses including learning how to focus on the little things that can make the difference between winning and losing.

In any case, I doesn't appear that WSU has any appetite for eating a $500,000 buyout for women's basketball otherwise they would have departed ways after the allegations made against Jody last year. If Jody can survive that she seems to me to have great job security.

I'm so sorry to beat a dead horse, but I've totally forgotten...what WAS the end result of that investigation...anything about Jody being 'wrong'?

I don't think there was ever a declaration of wrong doing by WSU or an admission of wrong doing by Jody. My recollection is that it was announced that Jody would continue as head coach, WSU would hire a sports psychologist to work with the players and coaching staff and the players would have enhanced lines of communication in the athletic department where they could relay any concerns they might have.
