Below is a tweet from the President of Missouri St. I don't know the details, but in trying to connect the dots it looks the Shocker softball team wore orange uni's tonight to show support for a MSU player that is fighting cancer. Does anyone have details?

Yes, the team wore the same orange jerseys worn last weekend and auctioned off in Wichita as part of the "Strike Out Leukemia" campaign. This was done to honor Allie Alvstad of MSU who was diagnosed with leukemia last September. Now the jerseys will be given to their rightful owners who bid on them last week.

This was in the game notes from the DH they played against MSU last Wednesday in Wichita:

One of the promotions of Wedneday's doubleheader between the Shockers and Bears is to Strike out Leukemia. Wichita State's softball team are wearing orange jerseys during both games that will be auctioned off to support Leukemia research and awareness.

I wonder if maybe someone at MSU new of a Leukemai patient in Springfield and asked them if they could wear them in today's series finale in Springfield.

Always heartbreaking to hear of people that have to battle for their lives against cancer instead of competing in their athletic endeavors. We're pulling for you Allie to have victory in this battle.

With the chances of sweeping Loyola and Evansville pretty high and with the Shockers only one game out of fourth, getting a single bye in the tournament is within reach.
