The Shockers host the Mavericks of Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday for a DH with the first game starting at 3pm.
Omaha (apparently the preferred name in athletics) is 14-12 on the season. They were a preseason pick for second among the seven teams in The Summit League where they have a 4-2 record. They split two games with Drake and lost to Colorado State at the CSU tournament and were run-ruled by Nebraska.
Tonya Peterson (OPS of .961), Allie Mathewson (.881) and Campbell Ditto (a BA of .218, but six HRs and 18 BB for an OPS of .858) are Omaha's leading hitters. Kat Barlow (ERA of 1.59 and WHIP of 1.09 - impressive even with their schedule) and Jaylee Hinrichs (3.21 and 1.20) have the bulk of the innings for the Mavericks.
Brittany (OPS of 1.191), Liz (.976), Cacy (.965) and Mackenzie (.927) lead the Shocker hitting. Jenni's outing Sunday lowered her ERA to 3.87 with a WHIP of 1.84. Katie is at 4.12 and 1.58.
