#13 Wichita State at #4 Cal Preview

One glaring omission is that the author failed to mention the big (and unfair) advantage Cal has by playing at home.

I think it is also being streamed on ESPN3 as well.

I am a Cal fan and will be rooting for Cal to win today, but I did not know until yesterday that Kelsey Jacobs graduated from the same high school as my 2 kids, Fortuna Union High School. I wish her well. Cal's team has under performed this year considering they were expected to win the Pac-12. They lost to our arch rival, Stanford, in the Pac-12 Tournament final by 1 point. Stanford beat U Conn earlier this year. Our 2 senior leaders, Gray and Boyd are very good and are projected to go 2 and 4 in the WNBA draft: http://prospectsnation.com/story/201...board-march-15. Gray is the Pac-12 Player of the Year. Other teams have been successful in getting Gray in foul trouble. Boyd is always on the move and catches other teams off guard.

I live in Santa Rosa, wine country, now instead of Fortuna, so I am about 60 miles away. I went to the men's Pac-12 Tournament last week, so I am a little tired of traveling. If I had known about Jacobs earlier, I probably would make the trip. I hope it is a good game and will be watching on Tv.

              Richard

P.S. A friend of mine from high school is a math professor at Wichita State, Kirk Lancaster.

@SonomanA1: our highly successful volleyball Coach, Chris Lamb, is a graduate of Sonoma State.

Cal has a big advantage (and many believe an unfair advantage) by getting to play at home. Cal should be the heavy favorite but one thing I am fairly confident in and that is that our young ladies will give it everything they have.

The home court advantage is good to have. I assume the NCAA does that to keep down the cost for the women's tournament for the first two rounds. As the men's tournament is showing, upsets do happen. I will enjoy watching the game.

I looked up Chris Lamb. It looks like he has a successful program at Wichita. His bio has a lot of Sonoma County in it. I follow Cal volleyball. They are usually pretty good, but this last season was not.

Albany a 13 seed took Duke a 4 seed down to the wire...Dukies barely squeak by. If Albany can disrupt Duke I have a good feeling for our Shockers.

Expert recap and game analysis of the Duke Blue Devils vs. UAlbany Great Danes NCAAW game from March 20, 2015 on ESPN.

I think it is whip around coverage. They did this last year to. We will get bits and pieces of several different games.

I am expecting us to get the entire Shocker game once it starts. But then again, they may fool me.
