    Under 3 left.....

Decker misses from 3 which might have ended the game for practical purposes.

61-54 Shocks at the under 4, just under 3 minutes left. Drake going to the FT line I think.

Huge run for the ladies to take charge.

What a huge basket by Freshman Aundra Stovall coming in off the bench for her 1st minutes in crunch time. Need to look for Alex, Kelsey and Michaela. The seem to have the best feel on the offensive end.

Helluva comeback by the Shocks from 9 down and nothing going their way.

Then the Shocks give up an O-Rebound, throw the ball away and give a 3-pointer. Geez.

Ugh..Drake gets an O board after an airball and gets a layup. Then WSU throws it away needlessly on the inbounds play. Drake wasn't pressing.

            Drake immediately drills a 3.

Timeout and there's still 2:34 left.

The crowd seems louder than when the kid hit the truck winning shot.

61-59 WSU I hope that turnover doesn't come back to haunt us.

Decker misses again, barely. Geese ball.

            2 minutes left

            Jonas hits a 3 un****ingreal.

            62-61 Drake

                Can't get a shot.

42 seconds. Drake ball. Probably need to foul but we're not going to.

Harden with a shot to win the game with a couple of seconds left and it doesn't go.

Ballgame. Maybe a foul maybe not. Drake may or may not shoot a late FT that doesn't matter.

Inexplicably Drake makes both FT giving the Shocks a chance at a prayer 3 to tie but they don't get a shot off. 64-61 final.

Wonder if Doug Elgin said anything about WSU not winning every game on the women's side too?

Alex was hammered and no call but we deserved to lose

Why does Alex not shoot more?

The Shocks made a tremendous come back from down 9 to take a 6-point lead then went into a shell and played defense like they were trailing.

Drake made the plays when they had to and the Shocks did not.

Her biggest flaw as a player is that she is too unselfish. She is not a great 3-point shooter but she is a very good mid-range shooter and can get to the basket. Jamillah and Alie like to jack it up though. At least with Jamillah you get very good defense. Other than her outside shooting which was non-existant today Alie brings very little to the table. The thing is Alie wasn't really forcing things. She was getting good looks. Just one of those days I guess.

I believe that was a 10-0 run for Drake to take a 9 point lead with 10 minutes to go.

Then WSU went on 16-0 run to lead by 7

Drake finished the game on a 10-0 run to win by 3.

The Geese finished 12-28 from 3. As @1972Shocker: said, why we were helping off their 3 shooters is indefensible.

We turned them over 26 times and got 17 more FG attempts. If Allie has anywhere near a regular game, Shocks win. If Drake doesn't shoot lights out from 3, Shocks win. Drake shot almost 2 times as many FTs which is hard to understand when you figure how aggressive WSU was to the cup. No foul on the last shot, which could have been called. Lots has to go right for Drake to win.

Shocks have 5 games they should win fairly handily...home against MSU, Loyola and Bradley, then at ISU and a potential trap game at SIU.

If they get through that they'll be 13-1 with Drake returning the game on Feb 27 and UNI on March 1 which probably decides the Valley race.

                            Good luck ladies!

I wouldn't count MSU as an easy win. I think they are playing better. The took Drake to overtime Friday before losing in Des Moines.

Bradley, Loyola and Illinois State should be the handy wins. Indiana State, MSU, Evansville and SIU could all get you if you don't play well. SIU will definitely be tougher in Carbondale as they have leading scorer Rashonda Napier back. SIU beat the Shocks in Carbondale last year and cost them an outright MVC Title. And then the obvious games with the contenders Drake and UNI.
