Alie is such a huge liability on defense and she is not giving us any offense to speak of.

Michaela and Jamillah with 4 fouls each with 16 minutes to play, not that it really makes any difference.

Team fouls with 12 to play:

          WSU - 16
          EWU - 4

Yes, four fouls in 28 minutes of play. That can't be a true picture of the situation, can it?

Yes. No problems with the officiating. Shocks actually have probably gotten away with a handful of fouls.

We tend to use our hands much more than a lot of teams, so the hand-check fouls pileup against us.

Will Jody do the post-game show? Can we bear to hear what she has to say if she does?

Very reminiscent of the good ol' days on the road with Jane Albright's teams.

Pretty decent game by Michaela with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Alex had 14 points but was only 5-13 from the field. 8 other players combined for 23 points.

Fast break points favored EWU 16-2. The Shocks were 6-11 from the FT line. EWU was 20-21. There is your 28 point differential right there.

EWU looked like a team that had scouted the Shockers well and put together a game plan. WSU looked like a team that just showed up with no real idea of how they wanted to attack EWU or who to focus on for EWU. Hodgins and Nelson outscored the Shockers 59-58 by themselves.

Hopefully, this will prove to be an aberration for this team. However, there is no doubt that this team has some major weaknesses that were certainly exploited by EWU tonight.

We pulled to within 48-64 in the second half and then EWU went on a 15-0 run to kill any hope.

                        Eastern Washington 86-58 Shockers

                        Michaela scored 21 and Alex had 14. EWU had a 30 and a 29.

Surely @oldtimewomen's hoopcoach will make a comment about the motion offense run by the Eagles.

The Wolfpack are picked fifth of the eleven teams in the Mountain West. :)

It looked like we were trudging through mud and EWU was skating on ice, especially on the backdoor cut. Just plain ugly. We need good practices and then a solid game Saturday before we head into a buzz saw in the Virgin Islands. I don't even want to think what it will be like in Tennessee if we play like this.

Bad day yesterday for the Valley all-around as they went 0-5, all road games.

                              UNI lost 73-82 @ Akron.

                              Bradley lost 77-101 @ #18 DePaul

Drake lost 67-84 @ Iowa State

                              MSU lost 48-61 @ AR-Little Rock

The Valley is off to a 5-12 start in D-1 games. Not good.

Jade Redmon, a 5-7 So guard, scored the 1st triple-double in EWU history against the Shocks with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

6-1 Sr F Mellissa Williams grabbed a game high 16 rebounds for EWU. As a team the Shocks were outrebounded 47-35 by a team that was about the same size as the Shocks.

We knew coming into the season that we would miss Michelle Price's strength, energy and toughness inside. Last nigh was a prime example. Of course, that was compounded by a poor defensive performance overall. Thank goodness Michaela had a very good offensive performance and was able to grab 10 rebounds or it may have been quite a bit uglier as hard as that is to imagine.

I have to give EWU some credit however as they played extremely well. They were certainly the far superior team on the court against the Shocks.
