My guess is that Erin Carney will be back next year. Even though she's not playing this year due to an injury, she's at the games supporting the team.

As reflected in the implied standings of @WuDrWu:, but not specifically noted here, ISUR defeated Bradley yesterday, 6-3. Northern Iowa is at Drake later today to complete the partner-series.

I am declaring myself temporarily insane this weekend as I will morph into a huge Missouri State fan for 2 days.

That said I do think I will have the intestinal fortitude to ward of the meth dealers and survive the weekend needing only a nice, long hot shower to restore my senses.

As much as I hate kicking away the first game of this doubleheader, I think back to the ferocious five-run rally against Bradley in the bottom of the seventh of the second game of that DH to take the game 6-5 and lead us to a series win. I would call that our first win against solid Valley competition (after being shut out in the first game of the DH), and I think it gave us the confidence to think we might just belong with this year's big dogs. If there has to be a trade, that is a trade I would make.

The way Missouri State played Tuesday also give some hope that they will be able to compete with Illinois State and maybe take a game in the series. Anything more than that would be manna from heaven.

Drake defeats Northern Iowa 7-1 to complete the set of partner series.

UNI is now 11-9 and drops to fifth place, one-half game behind Bradley. Drake is now 7-11 and remains in eighth place, the last qualifying spot for the Conference Tournament. They are two games ahead of Indiana State and one game behind Missouri State and Loyola.

After playing 3 at MSU this weekend Illinois State will host Drake in a DH on April 28th before taking on the Shocks in the Season finale. MSU and Drake could potentially be very helpful to the Lady Shocks cause if they could pick up a couple of wins against the Redbirds.
