On the ones they did show, one of the replays were inconclusive, while the other one clearly showed it was a good 4-5 inches from Michaela Dapprich's hand.
Was it the camera that showed an NCAA official saying: "Think carefully, refs. There are TV revenue implications involved in your decision." ?

FWIW, #3 seed Penn State beat #11 seed Florida 83-61 to move into the Sweet 16.

And one of the officials who looked at the monitor was part of the crew for that game. Sorry, but :(.

I haven't been in the loop as much this year, but saw some of the kids at Koch as I was walking in circles in what some might call exercise. Coach Dana is moving on to be an assistant coach somewhere, and Kelsey has her knee surgery next week, which will require some rest while the rest of the team comes back after one week rest to start conditioning and weight training. Again, this is not for the feint of heart. I'm sure they know they could have made it to the sweet 16, hopefully the loss has a bitter taste and motivates the 11 returners to have no slumps next year. Oh Yeah, I was told Dap did not touch the ball, it rocketed past her, maybe 10" away from her. That's more info. than I've had all season.

That is certainly what the replays they showed on TV indicated. So the question is exactly what conclusive evidence did the officials have that caused them to reverse the live action call? If I were Jody I would probably press the issue, although I doubt it will get you anywhere.

Interesting if true. @oldtimewomen's hoopcoach (you need a shorter moniker) has rarely, if ever, reported anything that was not true.

I'll save any further comment until that is officially confirmed.

Obviously, if you would do more walking in the Koch Arena concourse you would be more in the loop. :biggrin-new:

You are the best 1972 and a legend on this site. I'm just an old former player and coach the young women feel o.k. visiting with when I ask questions. We have had and continue to have delightful young women.

#3 Penn State falls to #2 Stanford 82-57 in the Sweet 16.

                    #3 Louisville blew-out #7 LSU 73-47 also in the Sweet 16.

You generally don't see that kind of blow-out in the men's game especially teams seeded that high.

Well OK, I guess there was a 3 seed that lost to a 6 seed by 30 points in the round of 32 on the men's side this year, but it's not like that losing team had the National POY on its roster. Well OK, maybe it did. I suppose that was an embarrassment for Creighton. But that's OK, wait till next year.
