This was a game of runs for both teams which resulted in a tight game at the end. You could say the same of Penn St scoring droughts.

I can't remember the final score but we lost by 6, we were behind by 2 with just under a minute left when we got insanely hosed.

PSU 62 - WSU 56. But the game was closer than he final score indicates. Shocks were hurt badly by a 7:45 scoring drought to open the second half that turned a 5 point halftime lead into a 12 point deficit. Shocks got it back to within 2 with 1:18 remaining but couldn't get over the hump.

Perhaps, but PSU opened the 2nd half with a 17-0 run. The Shocks biggest run I the second half was 5-0.

Jody played with a pretty short bench all-season but today only 6 Shockers saw the floor with only Alie Decker contributing playing time off the bench.

Hopefully, our depth will improve some next year although I don't think the short bench particularly hurt us any today. The Ladies that did play gave it their all.

Not that it makes any difference now, but somebody sometime has to ask Michaela if she touched the rebound. Fingertip doesn't count - that can't see that on a replay. On the replays being shown while the refs were reviewing the play, the length of the court replay did not show a touch by Michaela, but the cross-court replay was inconclusive. I certainly saw nothing to merit reversing the call, BWDIK.

If @flyingMoose, @The Mad Hatter: and @RoyalShock say there was no touch then there was no frickin' touch. That is about the most honorable group of unbiased (ok maybe a little biased) arbiters you could have. Should be enough to get the result overturned in court don't you think.

Actually, we Shocker fans are probably being a little bit naïve to expect the benefit of the doubt for a 14 seed on the home court of a 3 seed. At the very least I hope Jody takes a close look at it and raise a little hell with the NCAA if there was, in fact, no conclusive evidence to overturn that call.

I watched the out of bounds play on ESPN3 and the only conclusion I have is that the referees looked at another camera angle that they didn't show on any of the replays on TV. On the ones they did show, one of the replays were inconclusive, while the other one clearly showed it was a good 4-5 inches from Michaela Dapprich's hand.

I only saw the original telecast on WatchESPN on my iPad which I assume was the same as ESPN2, but I came to the same conclusion - the referees had another camera angle that we never saw on air.

That losing streak we had at the end of the season probably really hurt our seeding in the NCAA Tournament but the Ladies nearly pulled it off. Again that long scoring drought early in the half was a killer..

Michelle thank you so much for all the blood, sweat and tears you have shed for the Shocks. Best wishes to you in your future endeavor.
Absolutely second this sentiment. Shockers left me very proud today. Tremendous effort. Nothing at all to be ashamed of here. I think the MVC has some talent in some of the new coaching hires and I have always respected the job the UNI coach does; nonetheless, I think Valley teams are going to have a hard time prying away a championship trophy from us next year. And if Alex doesn't win player of the year next year someone better start a federal investigation.

I don't pay terribly close attention, but I didn't realize that X-Man had a daughter playing for North Carolina. And she made this shot today, that you may have already seen on Sportscenter.
