Alex struggled with ball security against Bradley turning it over 5 times in her 26 minutes. Jessica, Chynna and Kelsey played 37, 35 and 34 minutes, respectively, as Jody said the energy and effort from the bench tonight was not very good.

Not surprised that Creigton beat Illinois State last night but was surprised by that the Bluejays won in such dominating fashion. 64-45.

Illinois State took 59 shots to Creighton's 58, but the Bluejays made 10 more baskets making 47% to 29% for the Redbirds. I don't know if it was mostly a bad shooting performance by ILS or good defense by CU or a combination.

UNI torched MSU from the perimeter. Hopefully, the Shocks defense will be able to hold UNI's perimeter shooting down, but you worry about Jacqui Kalin getting to the basket for layups and fouls. A win over UNI tonight and the Lady Shocks are off to a very nice start in Valley play.

Also a Shocker win would set up a really big game with Creighton next Saturday in Koch Arena. That game might actually draw some interest. The Shocker men play at Creighton earlier that same afternoon. That could get the juices of Shocker fans going.

I believe you meant the shocker men play here against Creighton.

Yes indeed. Good catch. Original post has been correced.

As I said that should get the juices of Shocker fans going especially if all 4 teams are still undefeated at that point, but even if that's not the case catching the men's game at 3:00 then heading out to a nice dinner, then return for the women's game at 7:00.

Doesn't get much better than that for this Shocker fan.

In fact, why not let anyone with a stub from the men's Creighton game exchange that for a GA ticket to the women's game. The more the merrier.

A Katie Yohn 3-pointer with 3 seconds remaining gave Bradley an 80-79 win over Missouri State and sends the Bears to 0-3 in Valley play.

Shocks get out to a fast start for the second game in a row hitting their first 6 shots to take a 12-5 lead at tehe 1st media timeout. Most encouraging is that 5 of the baskets have come from the frontcourt as Jaz as 6 points and Kelsey and Michelle 2 points each.

Shocks lead 18-11 at the 2nd media timeout. Shocks are 9-11 from the field. Jacqui Kalin, who is pretty much automatic, will be shooting 2 free throws after the break. Shocks have committed 5 fouls to only 1 for UNI.

Shocks still shooting well at 12-17 and lead 27-18 at the under 8 media timeout. Stillhave to watch the fouls as the Shocks have 8 to only 4 on UNI.

Shocks maintaining the 9-point lead at 36-27 with 2:00 left in the half. Playing pretty well although Michaela needs to understand that she is not obligated to shoot whenever she gets a touch and Michelle needs to understand we don't need her shooting 15 foot jumpers.

Shocks take a 37-30 lead into the locker room. Pretty solid 1st half although they didn't handle the last 2 minutes very well but UNI help out by missing some free throws.

Will take another 2nd half just like it.

                          Go Shocks!

Shocks jumped out to a 45-32 lead before a quick 5 points by UNI closed it to 45-37 at the 1st media timeout. Again some questionable decision making by Michaela Dapprich hurt the Shocks. I like her agressiveness but she need to learn when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.

UNI closes to 49-46 with about 8 minutes to go. This game may come down to Jacqui Kalin vs Jessica Diamond. Whoever, can carry there team to the win.

Jasmine Jones taking a long jumper for the Shocks. You have to understand your role and what you can and can't do.
