If we would have started a little stronger and the refs not stop our momentum late in the game, we would have had a good lead win. Still a win in my book playing a much taller and bigger team. Wonder how Price feels after the jumbo jet use her for a runway? Great game for the ladies! Good job!

I was proud of the girls effort, however did the refs cause 25 turnovers? Lets face it, we have too many silly turnovers to win key games. I've seen it time and time again. Yes, we have some talent, it's time to take it to another level."You Just Want to Slap The #### Outta Some People"

I haven't for the past five years I've been watching this team. I do believe we can win the Valley. I pray we will find a point guard.
Kelsey Jacobs did look a little bit like a deer caught in the headlights though.
This is about as tough of an opener as the Shocks could have had and overall I think they responded well.
I continue to fall in love with Alex Harden's game. She could be something very special before she is done.

From the link below, we have:
Women’s 3-point line moved
The Playing Rules Oversight Panel also approved moving the women’s 3-point line in all three divisions back a foot to 20 feet, 9 inches for the 2011-12 season.

No, the refs didnt cause the 25 turnovers, but they did cause 2 in a row with horrible calls.
That was one of the worst officiate games I have seen. All fans agreed even after the game. The impact on the game was obvious, an unfortunately it was our turn at the end.
Great game ladies! That is a big physical team and you went toe to toe with them! Keep up that intensity!

Sorry. I'm a big Shox fan and I'm not a life long Shox fan. Just happen to work (or retired) coast to coast and love hoops. I've seen us fold in the last 2 minutes for the last five years. AZ at WSU and we folded, LSU at WSU and we Folded, WSU at LSU and we folded. I'm done with being nice. Let's be warriors. The Refs can be bad any game. Good coaches don't allow their players to get in trouble. Chynna as a senior should not have been in first half foul trouble. You are probably all young. Ever seen Goodrich or Hazzard or Alcindor in foul trouble. That's great coaching because I know those guys. They could have fouled out in three minutes. I'm not bashing Jody, just know she can do better. Jody was a passing guard; and we don't pass inside. We think the opponent is bigger when we can play bigger. This is a game we should have won. I'm disapointed we settled for the loss.

LSU packed in the zone tight. Coach Caldwell was constantly yelling to her team to tighten up and take away the inside pass. We did a good job penetrating and then finding the seam.
What we didn't do was make FT in the first half, or be able to penetrate with ol knees and elbows (55-Plaisance) checking everyone. We had two charges called on us, one was definitely questionable, and the travel call I still don't understand, even after the replay.
As poorly as we played the first 8 mins, we were within 1 at half.
I have some other thoughts on Coaches, but will put them in the appropriate thread.

OTWHC, with all due respect, trying to compare this WSU team to the UCLA dynasty teams is more than a bit of a stretch. UCLA won in those days because 1) they were well coached and 2) they had the best talent. Kind of like Tennessee and UConn in today's women's game.
If you had told me before the game that the Shocks would have 0 fast break points and that LSU was going to play a packed-in zone the entire game I would have guessed the Shocks would struggle to score 50. Instead the put up 70 and were in the game all the way once they recovered from their slow start. Shocks did a great job battling the MUCH bigger LSU team on the boards losing that battle 35-33, but our 25 turnovers definitely were a lot to try and overcome.
Yes, they let a golden opportunity get away from them, but they showed some good toughness that gives me hope that they just might have what it takes to win their 1st ever MVC Championship.

I know, UCLA men in the championship days to WSU women in 2012 is apples and oranges. If we build on this, we'll be a contender for the title. Thanks, 1972 for settling me down, I get a little fired up. I learned a long time ago to Hate losing.

The formulas are available, so perhaps if they intend to pass on the women's side this year, a spreadsheet whiz over here can do them. But you are right - it looks like some work is involved.
I'm out of town and won't be able to get to my computer at home until probably the week of Thanksgiving. I'll try to update it then.
