@Hovpen: are you getting any sense about whether or not the new softball coaching staff is making or at least trying to make inrooads with more of our local players?

I think they have a good start at it. I've HCKB at several tournaments an games late. I believe one of them will be in Tulsa with the 16's this weekend watching a loaded field, and next weekend, we have an 18 Gold Qualifier in Wichita that I'm fairly certain she or one of her assistants will be at.

      Teams entered in Wichita include

      1 Nebraska Nebraska Gold
2 Chicago Metro White Sox Training Academy Gold
3 KC Metro Olathe Rockets Gold
      4 Chicago Metro Beverly Bandits-SS
      5 Chicago Metro Beverly Bandits-JT
6 Nebraska Nebraska Gold - Quakes
7 KC Metro Mac-N-Seitz Nationals Gold
      8 Indiana Team Indiana
      9 Kansas Kansas Renegades Gold
      10 Nebraska NE Fury Gold
      11 Indiana Midland Magic
12 KC Metro Team Power Gold
13 KC Metro KC Zephyrs Gold
      14 KC Metro Originals Gold
15 St. Louis Metro St. Louis Fusion
16 KC Metro KC Pepper - Ingle
      17 Oklahoma Oklahoma Jitterbugs
      18 Oklahoma Oklahoma Force Gold
      19 KC Metro KC Xtreme
      20 Nebraska Echoes

I am assuming that will be held at TRYC.

http://hovpen.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1374626 Free read with Tulsa 16's results. Our local Renegade 16 team took second and there are some players on it. Their 18's will be at TRYC this weekend.

Was just posted on my site: Mill Valley Senior, Kelli Spring verbally commited to Wichita State this past week. Spring, an All Conference and All State Shortstop for the Jaguars will join the Shockers in the Fall of 2013. Spring will bring an excellent bat and outstanding defense to the WSU team.

I have no other information on this but it comes from a good source who says her dad is Jim, former shocker baseball player.

Mill Valley's Kelli Spring takes a swing in the 5A regional tournament.

Looks like Kelli was 1st team Class 5A All-State as a junior.

Mark Ingle's KC Peppers, they played at TRYC in the Northern National ASA Qualifier two weeks ago. She plays several positions including middle infield and outfield. Wears No. 12 on Uniform.

Rats!! Was hoping she was one of the Originals. :) The Peppers were 2-2 (T9) and the Zephyrs were 1-2 (T13) in the 21-team Qualifier - and I understand this says nothing about the individual talent of the young ladies coming to WSU.

That tournament was loaded with national top 50 teams who hadn't qualified yet.
