Damn, the video stream froze up on me with two laps to go. I see were Aliphine finished 2nd in what appeared to be a very good time.

Nice job Aliphine and great effort.

Aliphine ran a 32:45.43 which was 3.8 seconds behind the winner.

Just a terrific race really by the top 4 ladies who were all juniors.

Aliphine becomes an All-American for I beleive the 6th time in her Shocker career.

J'Lynn Ledesma in the high jump and Tanya Friesen in the heptathlon completed their seasons today. Not their best efforts of the season, but both young ladies had very good seasons nevertheless and both will be back in the black and gold next year. J'Lynn is just a sophomore and Tanya a junior.

Here is the write up of their performances today.

Is probably fitting that the last Shocker athlete still competing in the 2011-12 year is 6-time USTFCCCA All-American Aliphine Tuliamuk who will compete in the 5k tomorrow at 12:19 pm after finishing 2nd in the 10k last night. I'm not really expecting Aliphine to win the 5k which is not her strongest event, especially after a tougth 10k race last night, but another All-American performance (Top 8 finish) is definitely possible.

Good luck Aliphine! May the wind be at your back all the way.

Aliphine finishes 5th garnering another All-American honor. Just an outstanding season for Aliphine and we have her back for one more go around nex year.

DES MOINES, Iowa ? Wichita State's Aliphine Tuliamuk finished fifth in the women's 5,000 meters during the final day of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at Drake Stadium.

And that officially brings an end to the 2011-2012 season for Shocker athletics. Used to be the Shocker baseball team that would mark the close of an athletic year.

Congratulations Audacia on receiving the MVC's Dr. Charlotte West Female Scholar-Athlete Award.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. ? Wichita State senior track & field student-athlete Audacia Moore has been selected as the female recipient of the Missouri Valley Conference's Dr. Charlotte West Scholar-Athlete Award, MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin announced Thursday.

Now that is an outstanding student-athlete representing Wichita State University. Well deserved indeed. Too bad Audacia had to deal with a stress fracture in her foot this past outdoor season.

Coach Rainbolt announces his 2012-13 recruiting class. Hard to really know how these young Ladies will develop but looks like some good material for 'Bolt and staff to develop.

The Wichita State University women's track and field team has signed 21 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to join the program for the 2012-13 season.
