I guess I will stuff this slightly off-topic note here.

    #3 St. John's
    69-67 #14 Creighton

SJU sinks a runner with 0.1 seconds to win this game. Given that SJU beat UConn earlier this year, this is really a terrific result, just not a win.

Wow, that is a surprisingly close game. Creighton does not lose much this year either with only 1 senior, 5'10" F Danae Moore on their roster. They will go into next year with some momentum and confidence.

Please keep us in the know when Haleigh is playing professionally.

BTW, I thought Taylor Eldridge's write up after the OSU game was very good. Just unfortunate that Haleigh was unable to make a go of it.

Some very nice comments and insights into what Haleigh has given ot the program though.

Nice season. Now the question, who returns, who transfers. We seem to lose some nice players each year, Sheena, Bree, etc. Hopefully we have a nice group next year and build on this season.

IIRC, Sheena left due to a family illness (I believe her mother). I have no idea why Breanna Dawkins left. It certainly was not due to lack of playing time. Maybe she was homesick. She did transfer much closer to home.

Right now I see no reason to expect any departures, although you can just never tell.

We have Allie Decker out of Edmund, OK and Michaela Dapprich out of Branson, MO committed. Jody has indicated they might sign a couple of more this spring but that remains to be seen. I don't know if we are still interested in Jackie Patterson at Hutch Juco who initially committed to the Shocks out of high school. Her twin sister is also at Hutch Juco but is a Freshman this year eligibility wise due to a knee injury.

If Jody does bring in two more scholarship players next year that will give her a full compliment of 15 scholarship players on the roster (assuming no departures) for the 1st during her time at WSU. I don't remember any of her players redshirting, other than due to injury, however I wonder if she might not start looking at redshirting a player or two with a full roster.

Speaking of departures, a poster on the SIU board is claiming that he is aware of at least 5 departures from the SIU team this year including Teri Oliver who would have been their only senior next year. Teri averaged 16.0 PPG this year and IMO was SIU's best player. Apparently, Teri will finish up her degree work this summer. Not sure if she will transfer anywhere to finish the last year of her eligibility or not.

Also reported/speculated to be leaving was 6'4" Soph Center CiCi Shannon. Cici has not been a very effective offensive player but she is an athletic big who was one of the best, if not the best, shot blockers in the Valley.

Also reported to be leaving were Soph PG Brooke LeMar and Soph SG Antishia Wright who both played around 19 MPG for the Salukis this year. In addition, Raquel Miller who only played a total of 33 minutes this year had already left the team during the season.

Here is the link to the SIU thread on this if you are interested:

Time will tell whether any of these rumored departures will happen at SIU and I will point out the poster making these claims is certainly not a fan of SIU Coach Missy Tiber.

So here is to us getting some true post presence and some aggresive guards that can drive, dish, and slash to the basket. I kno jody will do her best, but in regards to patterson we have to get her after she leaves hutch. The young lady is a baller!

I see some ACC womens coaches are moving on. I wonder if Jody will be looking?

Personally, I don't think her resume is nearly strong enough yet to do that.
