While were waiting on the astute scouting report by flyingMoose here is a nice background report on Head Coach Kristi Bredbenner:

RH: Bredbenner's Accidental Coaching Career Started as a Student

"Here comes Kenzie in her uniform," Endicott said. "That's a tribute to Coach Bredbenner. When you have a senior who won't take their uniform off, she's done something with passion. It's not just about the game. Kenzie didn't want to give up the experience."

The #23/23 Shockers open their NCAA tournament play with a game against Texas A&M on Friday at 5 pm in Norman. That game is followed by a matchup between #1/1 Oklahoma and Morgan State. All of the Regionals are double-elimination.

The Shocks now have a record of 39-11-1, winning both the AAC regular-season and the AAC Tournament titles.

Four players have an OPS north of 1.000: Neleigh (1.232 and nine homers), Addison (1.215 and 21 homers), Sydney (1.084), and Butters (1.077 and eighteen homers). LoLo does not have enough plate appearances to make the official list, but her numbers are 1.296 and ten homers.

Bailey continues to be the ace of the staff with an ERA of 2.55 and a WHIP of 1.13. Caitlin is at 2.27 and 1.35 while Erin's numbers are 3.98 and 1.28.

The story from the Shocker site is here.

Texas A&M finished with a regular-season record of 31-21 and were in tenth place of thirteen teams in the SEC with a record of 8-16. Among common opponents, they own three victories over Tulsa, two over A&M-Corpus Christi, and one over Houston.

The leading hitters for the Aggies are Haley Lee (1.453 and 22 homers), Makinzy Herzog (1.144 and thirteen homers), and Shaylee Ackerman (.968 and twelve homers). The three primary pitchers in innings order are Herzog (2.56 and 1.30), Kayla Poynter (2.39 and 1.46), and Kelsey Broadus (2.75 and 1.43).

The story from the Aggie site is here.

Oklahoma has a record of 45-2 and 16-1 in the Big XII. Their only conference loss was to Oklahoma State. They defeated the Shocks by run-rule about two weeks ago.

As noted in the past, the offense for the Sooners is awesome. Jocelyn Alo (1.686 and 27 homers and Tiare Jennings (1.568 and 24 homers) lead the OPS list. Others greater than 1.000 are Kinzie Hansen, Grace Lyons, Jayda Coleman, and Mackenzie Donihoo who ends this list at a mere 1.279. The pitching staff is Giselle Juarez (2.53 and 0.82), Shannon Saile (1.18 and 1.03), and Nicole May (1.62 and 0.94).

The story from the Sooner site is here.

Morgan State are members of the MEAC. The overall record for the Bears is 24-15 with a 14-5 conference mark including three wins in the MEAC Tournament. You could not tell me where any of their opponents are located - well, probably Norfolk State.

Haylee Bobos (.971) and Ellen Ebers (.954) are at the top of the OPS list. The team home run leader is Bobos with four. All of the starts belong to Mikayla Barnard (2.86 and 1.44) and Stephanie Rundlett (3.12 and 1.41).

The story from the Bear site is here. If we have to play this team, that will not be a good sign.

8-16 in their league? Granted the SEC is tough but I thought basketball was skewed.

Doesn't look like the Aggies will be anything but a very tough opponent for the Shocks. The Shocks will have to play well in all phases to win this game.

James Madison vs Liberty on the U right now. No score.

Speaking of no score, JMU hasn't given up a run THIS MONTH.

            JMU's last 7 games:

            8-0
            9-0
            6-0
            3-0
            5-0
            10-0
            17-0

            I don't care who you're playing,

Odicci Alexander is special in the circle for JMU.

She dots fastballs wherever she pleases, and has 4 pitches minimum.

12-0 on the year, 138Ks in 79.0 innings. ERA of 0.62

UCF just started against Auburn and USF just got going against #4 Florida. Georgina Corrick against Florida should be interesting.

Corrick hasn't fared particularly well so far this year against Florida. In her first game against them she gave up 6 earned runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. In her second game she was chased early after giving up 5 earned runs in only 2/3 innings.

USF and Florida still 0-0 going to the bottom of the 6th. Corrick has allowed a bunch of Gators to reach base, but has always found a way out of trouble. USF has only had one base-runner, which reached via walk.

Bulls have a runner at 2nd after an error and a sacrifice. A hit here and the heat is on former WSUHC Tim Walton and the Gators. USF still being no hit with 1 out in the top of the 7th.

Holy crap....USF gets 1st and 2nd with 1 out and finally get their 1st hit, and Florida gets the 8-2-5 double play, getting the USF runner trying to score and then trying to go 1st to 3rd.

                      Heartbreaking play for USF.

UCF left the bases loaded in the top of the 5th against Auburn, but still up 5-4.

Great play made both on the tag and on the throw to third by the Andover Central alum playing catcher for UF.
