USF at UCF will determine the American Athletic Conference championship and much of the seeding for the conference tournament. Wichita State (37-11-1, 18-5-1 American) needs USF (27-13, 15-4) to lose at least twice to finish with a better winning percentage. Three wins by USF gives them the title. UCF (34-15-1, 13-6-1) is in fourth place, percentage points behind Tulsa.

In the top of the first USF had two batters reach safely on errors, stole a base and had an infield single but failed to score.

Another error, a walk and an infield single (probably another UCF error but ruled a hit) leads to 2 USF runs in the top of the 1st. That is probably all Georgina Corrick will need to get the job done.

And indeed it was enough for Corrick. USF wins 2-0.

Tulsa and Houston split a DH yesterday. The most likely scenario is a #2 seed for the Shocks in the AAC Tournament.

Walk, error on Corrick, sac bunt, an intentional walk, and a squeeze bunt, surely a suicide squeeze as there was no play at the plate.

In the UCF third, single, double, and a sac fly and UCF takes a 2-0 lead after three complete.

A leadoff homer for USF in the fourth. Now 2-1 UCF after four. Corrick has given up more hits (2) and walks (2) than she has strikeouts (1).

With two outs in the USF fifth, two infield singles and an outfield single tie the game. Then a wild pitch gives Corrick the lead. 3-2 USF after five.

In the bottom of the seventh, a double and infield single puts runners at the corners for UCF with one out. A wild pitch and the game is tied at 3. Another squeeze bunt and UCF rallies for a 4-3 win.

Corrick gave up six hits and two walks and had only one strikeout.

With USF having to go to their non-Corrick pitching and UCF having White available, the Knights have to feel good about their chances for a sweep.

I am assuming it is 1/2 win and 1/2 loss. USF would be 18wins divided by 23games and the Shocks would 18.5wins divided by 24games. See post above. Our tie was a "complete" game - the stats count. The AAC says our conference record is 18-5-1. I don't see how it can be ignored when calculating standings.

After a two-run jack by Tulsa ties the game in the top of the seventh, Houston counters with a three-run homer in the bottom half.

An infield single, a passed ball, and a throwing error, and USF get a run across in the third.

A single and back-to-back bunt singles load the bases for UCF with no outs in their third. A one-out single scores two for the Knights. UCF 2-1 after three.

A double, wild pitch, and single add another UCF run in the fourth. 3-1.

A three-run homer in the UCF fifth and then three more runs.
