PAC-12, Big Twelve and SEC will probably get 14 of them.

How do they choose the 16 hosts? Top 16 in poll, in RPI, or in Selection Committee Eyes?

There is no way they will award a regional to the shocks. Facilities need to be better. Even if they were in top 16. It is time for an upgrade for these ladies. Look at all the baseball stuff across the street. Softball needs more.

            Shocker Pitchers Earn Weekly Honors

A stellar weekend in the circle from Wichita State's starting pitchers has landed the pair weekly honors from the American Athletic Conference. Redshirt senior Bailey Lange was named the Pitcher of the Week, while junior Caitlin Bingham landed on the Honor Roll.

A stellar weekend in the circle from Wichita State's starting pitchers has landed the pair weekly honors from the American Athletic Conference. Redshirt senior Bailey Lange was named the Pitcher of the Week, while junior Caitlin Bingham landed on the Honor Roll.

Lange went 2-0 over the weekend in helping No. 25 Wichita State go 3-0-1 at No. 23 UCF. The lefty finished with an ERA of 1.00, which included two complete games and her fourth complete game shutout of the season. In the series opener vs. the Knights, Lange threw a one-hitter to go with no runs, only two walks and five strikeouts. In Game 3 of the series, Lange picked up her 16th win of the season behind two runs allowed and three hits. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native also recorded her fouth save of the season in the midweek win vs. Kansas City. She retired the only three batters she faced in a perfect inning of work.

Bingham was 2-0 in three starts, highlighted by 17.1 innings of scoreless work in two games at No. 23 UCF. She got the start in Game 2 of the series vs. the Knights and registered her first complete game shutout of the season, allowing only two hits. The Tecumseh, Okla., native then was on the short end of Wichita State's 0-0 tie in the finale. Bingham held the Knights scoreless for 10.1 innings on just eight hits and one walk before the game was called due to the drop-dead rule.

This is the first Pitcher of the Week honor for Wichita State this season and Bingham's first career honor roll nod.

They need to tear the thing down and rebuild across the way adjacent to the indoor facility.

Additional Note: The seating arrangement is goofy. The press box is on ground level. The umpire room was built for the day of two-person crews and was barely adequate then. Other smaller stuff. The administration did what they could with the money and land and fan interest they had at the time, but the program deserves better.
