Back-to-back shut outs against a team that had not been shut out this season and which owns a win over #2 Arizona and two wins over #5 Florida is pretty impressive.

In the top of the first, Vasquez lasts six batters, only one of which was retired. RBI single by Addison, a single by Bailee drives in two more, and a throwing error on that play scores another. Jewell comes on to retire the side. Bailey has a three up, three down inning, and the Shocks lead 4-0 after one.

Bailey issues a two-out walk for the only baserunner in the second inning. 4-0 after two.

Three more Shocks are out in the third, and Jewell has retired all eight batters she has faced. Another three batter inning for Bailey.

The Shockers finally get a baserunner with a two-out walk in the fourth.

A single and a hit batter open the fourth for UCF. Another walk loads the bases and a ground out scores a run for the Knights. 4-1 after four.

Sydney with another web gem io the bottom of the 2nd of Game 2 ranging far into foul terrtiory to run down a foul pop.

Three more in a row for Jewell in the Shocker fifth. And Bailey does the same. 4-1 after five.

Ryleigh leads off the sixth with a double. A ground out moves her to third, and LoLo brings her home with a sac fly. A nice job by Bailee with a ground ball to the right side to advance Ryleigh. Shockers lead 5-1 as we go to the bottom of the sixth.

Three ground outs and on to the seventh.

Angelina DeVoe, another member of the UCF staff with only five innings on the season, is on to pitch. She yields an infield single to Sydney but nothing more.

The Knights open with an infield single, the batter advancing to second on an error by Kaylee. A walk and another single load the bases with no outs. Why does it have to be this way? A strikeout looking for the first out. A force out at second with a run scoring. Runners at first and third with two outs. A line out to center field and the Shocks take the first three games of the series with one to play.

          Shockers 5-2 UCF

Bailey gets her second win in two days. She gives up two runs on three hits, three walks, and a hit batter. She had four strikeouts.

The Shocks had five hits. Bailee had a single worth two RBI, Sydney had two singles, and Ryleigh had a double.

A generous first inning for the Shocks, and they held on for the win.

No Erin so far this weekend. Is she dinged up? Shocks going with the arms they think give them the best chance to win?

Shocks hang on for a 5-2 win and clinch a series win. This game being the least impressive of their 3 wins although the defense was stellar in this one. Overall Bailey Lange was pretty good in the circle although not as sharp as she was yesterday. She only gave up two infield hits, one a wierd spinner off the end of the bat and one that hit off the end of Bailey's glove that otherwise looked to be a routine grounder to Kaylee at 2nd. However, in both case Bailey appeared to let those wierd hits bother her as she seemed to lose focus in both of the innings and had to work out of bases loaded jams mostly of her own making. After the Shocks put 4 runs on 3 hits and 2 errors their offense went dormant for the most part and I thought their approach at the plate was not good. Taking a lot of very hittable pitches and swinging at a lot of less hittable pitches. Hopefully, the coaches get that cleared up.

Would be very nice to sweep this series but I'm sure we'll see UCF's top pitchers tomorrow. My guess is Caitlyn will get the start tomorrow for the Shocks although with series in hand HCKB might go with Erin with Caitlyn at the ready if Erin falters.

My guess is HCKB wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to secure the series win and that's why we saw Bailey in game 2. Erin was up in the bullpen at least once in Game 2. Clearly, the confidence level with Erin is just not quite where it is with Bailey for sure and even Caitlyn.

Nice play by B-Nick to end game 2. She is not the fastest center fielder you will ever see but she reads the ball off the bat very well and gets really good jumps on the ball.

Several really good plays today. Sydney with 2, the aforementioned diving catch by BN to end the game and a spectacular play at deep 2nd by Kaylee Huecker. Those are 2 outstanding plays and 2 other ridiculous silly insane plays. I bet I've watched Sydney's play a dozen times or more, still can't believe it.

I agree, that was simply spectacular and even more shocking was that out at 1st on that play was not even that close.

Was one of the Top 4 from the Villanova TD pass? That thing just about defied physics, gravity, logic, and whatever the hell you want to say.

                          Game Four

In a recent RH article, Butters spoke of scouting reports (video clips) that showed the tendencies of the pitchers they faced and how accurate those reports were. I assume this is a service the Shockers subscribe to. With back-to-back shutouts against UCF, I am wondering if the same service speaks of the holes in the swings of the opponents. Of course, even with that information, you still have to execute.

And that may well be the extent of my comments on this game.

Shocks and UCF in a scoreless tie after 5 innings. Caitlyn Bingham in the circle for the Shocks and Alea White. UCF has 3 hits. The Shocks are hitless as UCF seems to have found some weaknesses in their approach.

Addisson Barnard ends the 5th inning with a nice running catch in right field.

Sydney McKinney breaks up the no hitter with a bunt single leading off the top of the 6th. Addison popped out and Butters grounded out weakly but did move Sydney to 2nd. Neleigh reached first on 1st on catcher's interference on an 0-2 count. Ryleigh hit a hard liner ticketed for the left field corner but the 3rd basemen got the end of her glove on the ball and the ball stayed close enough to 3rd and Sydney could not score. Bailee struck out to end the inning with the bases loaded.

UCF led off the bottom of the 6th with a triple. The next batter flied out to right field that was seemingly more than deep enough to score the runner from 3rd but for some reason the runner stopped and went back to 3rd. An error on Sydney on a tough short hop and a stolen base put runners on 1st and 3rd. A nice play on a one hopper by a pulled in Ryleigh at 3rd got the runner at 1st while keeping the UCF runneCars in place. Caitly then got out of the mess with strike out.

In the top of the 7th Jessica Garcia pinch hit for Lolo who has been chewed up by White's rise ball. Jessica hit a frozen rope to left but right at the left fielder who was able to drop back a couple of steps for the catch. Kaylee and Bailey Urban went down easily.

Caitlyn hit the lead off batter the bottom of the 7th. A sac bunt moved the runner to 2nd. A hard hit ball to straight away center was run down by Baillee at the edge of the warning track with the runner at 2nd not tagging. A little bloop to left center was caught by Bailey Urban on a nice play to send the game into extra innings.

Not using the tie breaker rules yet at this point.

Shocks down in order in the 8th. A 1 out single but nothing else for UCF in the the 8th.

Shocks down in order in the 9th. A 2 out single but nothing else for UCF in the 9th.

Tiebreaker rules not in effect in the 10th.

Shocks down in order again in the top of the 10th. Simply refuse to make adjustments to their approach. Shocks need to get to the 11th as the top of the order is due up not that that has made much difference today. Caitlyn gives up a single on an 0-2 pitch to lead off the UCF 10th. Not a good pitch. A sac bunt moves the runner to 2nd. Top of the order due up for UCF. Grounder up the middle fielding nicley by Kaylee for the out at 1st with the runner taking 3rd. A sharply hit line drive ends up in Sydney's glove at short and the Shocks escape. I think UCF is getting the better swings in the latter innings.

With 2outs in the 11th Butters hits a sharp 1 hopper to short that the UCF shortstop was unable to corral for an error. Lauren Johnson enters a a pitch runner an steals 2nd. But Neleitgh who has been terrible in the series with her long, slow swing strikes out to end the inning.

Caitlyn walks the lead off batter on 4 pitches to open the UCF 11th. Caityn may be running out of gas. Can of corn to center on a change up. A base hit to center puts runners at 2nd and 3rd. The clock strikes midnight (actually 2:00 pm EDT/1:00 pm CDT) and the game is called a tie.

Really tough way to end the game for UCF.

Both pitchers were very good but Caitlyn was running out of gas. Shockers hitting approach was very poor the last 17 innings.

Jewell, who relieved in the first inning of yesterday's second game, gave up only one hit and a walk in her 5.2 innings. Perhaps lessons were learned by her that are carrying over to today's game.
