In the Shocker second, Asea walks, Ryleigh singles and Paige bloops a single into left. HCKB rolled the dice a bit, sent Asea and the throw was offline, allowing her to score easily.

    Shocks lead 1-0 after two.

A bit of a Houdini act so far for Bailey.

The Cowgirls start their third with an infield single and a fielder's choice and throwing error by Bailey to put runners at first and second. A groundout, short fly to center and strikeout ends the threat.

After two Shocker outs, Laurie singles and Madison hits a blast for a 3-0 lead for the Shocks after three.

With two runners on for Oklahoma State and two outs, a bunt at the plate is thrown into right field by Madison to score a run. An intentional walk followed by an unintentional walk scores another for the Cowgirls. A single up the middle scores two more and Okie State takes the lead. 4-3 in the middle of the fourth.

How much more does Bailey have?

Neleigh gets a two-out single, but Morgan lines out to short to end the inning.

            4-3 after four.

In the Shocker fifth, Mackenzie is safe on an error by the pitcher on a bunt. With two outs, Madison hits her second two-run bomb of the game. After a walk to Asea, Simunek is on to pitch for the Cowgirls and gets a strikeout.

                5-4 Shocks after five.

Great at bat by Madison and that was an absolute bomb. Looked to me like she was sitting on that change up with the full count. That one was a no doubter.

BTW, am I the only one not enamored with the home plate ump's strike zone. At least on the inside to RHH and outside to LHH.

I believe Madison's 1st homer tied the Shocker season record for most home runs in a season by the team and her 2nd homer set a new season team record.

Nah, you just don't appreciate a great screwball. :)

                    I have kinda wondered myself.

Apparently Robertson has a great screwball and Bailey doesn't because she hasn't quite gotten as many of those wide calls on that side of the plate.

An infield single by Shippy and then a walk with two outs, and the Cowgirls threaten in the sixth. If Laurie sets her feet on Shippy's ball (a two-bouncer) early, she gets the out at first I think. A hit batter loads the bases. A ball is fisted down the first base line, and Bailey sprints to grab the pop-up to end the inning. Was it ball four?

Bailey gets out of another huge jam in the 6th but at least Bailey is though the toughest part of the OSU lineup going into the 7th.

The Shocks load the bases in the sixth with one out. Paige singles, Neleigh is safe as the throw on her sac bunt is muffed, and Mackenzie has an infield single. A force out at the plate and foul fly out end the inning.

Shocks 5-4 as we go to the seventh.

                          Columbia Regional

#9 South Carolina survives an elimination game. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, a walk and walk-off homer gives them a 5-4 win.

A walk and a bloop to right with one out in the seventh, and the Cowgirls threaten again. A sac bunt advances the runners. Two outs. An intentional walk to Shippy, her second of the game, loads the bases.

Laurie catches the popup of a 3-2 pitch for the win.

                            Oklahoma State 4-5 Shockers

Could Bailey lift her arm in the good-game line? 147 pitches.

Bailey gives up ten hits and six walks. Oklahoma State has 13 LOB.

Madison has the two two-run homers.

Holy Crap. Talk about doing it the hard way. Whew!

Congrats to the first Shocker team to ever win 2 games in an NCAA regional.
