Shocks have a great opportunity tomorrow to put themselves squarely in the race for 2nd place and still in sight of UNI. Obviously it will not be easy. CU is playing very well at this point.

A 2nd place finish in the regular season is a very worthwhile prize.

No doubt. The coaches have been recruiting well and it's showing.

Pablo, Richkern and RPI all like UNI more than the voters as the Panthers are in the top 10.

6 other Valley schools are in the top 80. Tomorrow is a big game for us. This team, for all it's shortcomings and lackluster play so far, should still win 21-25 games before the NCAAs. 23 probably gets them at large, even given the pitfalls so far. For once, the Valley is helping us.

      Emily Adney's attack line was 18-2-42 = 0.381

      Camri Z's line was 15-3-40 = 0.300

Big Mac was very solid also at 7-1-14 = 0.429

This accounted for 40 of our 50 kills in tonights match. Excellent performances but we could sure use a little more balance IMHO.

78 digs in 3 sets is pretty impressive also.

I don't know that I would describe the Shocks play so much as lackluster, but perhaps more as inconsistent. We do seem to have a weak link or two in the rotation that Lambo is trying to coach around.

Did we sell out to beat Drake then hope we had enough to get CU too?

Or were the ladies waiting in the weeds to jump out and hammer a couple of middies back to the Jurrasic?

        Game on!

Shox execute their usual road game plan to perfection in game 1.

Start off slow, commit several service errors, fall behind, rally late but never enough.

Game 1 to the BJs, 25-22.

Definitely dug too big of a hole at 12-18 and deservedly so, because we weren't getting anything done.

Nice rally but a couple of close calls went CU's way and then we chipped in a service error by Elizabeth late that broke our momentum.

Another disputed call early in Set 2. We may be getting homered a little although that is pretty much a given when on the road at Creighton.

Shocks turning the tables in Set 2 running out to a 20-11 advantage. If we let this one get away I may not survive the intermission.

Shocks employing an entirely different approach in game 2, taking charge of the game early and extending the lead. 20-11, timeout Jays.

Maybe we should just go to the chat room 72. :D

Drake wins Set 3 vs MSU 25-18 to avoid the sweep and extend their match to a 4 set.

                              Last night I posted that
We do seem to have a weak link or two in the rotation that Lambo is trying to coach around.
Lambo pretty much confirmed that in tonight's pre-match interview, but until someone can step up consistently in practice he has to pretty much stay with the status quo.

I'm hoping CU will start feeling the effects of their 5-set match with UNI last night after intermission.

Emily Adney is playing very well lately. She is going to have a very good Shocker career (wonder if she would have red-shirted last year if Lindsey had not blown-out her knee).

I was thinking recently that it would be interesting to see which rotation scores the most points for us.

We seem to go on a lot of runs when Hoop serves....also Church.

No surprise that these are 2 of our better servers, but they aren't exactly tough servers.

Can you provide more detail on the bad rotations?
