  • BYU Invitational

I see the SHOX completing the weekend 3 wins 0 losses at this West Coast trip. Why? CONFIDENCE + Leaders make us a tough team. We have too many places to score and a leader on the court and leader off the court adding some confidence helps us sweep the invitational. Thats what I see.http://www.byucougars.com/uploads/pdf/0000014337-1.pdf

3-0? I like the optimism, but this is a decent field that has faced a LOT tougher competition than we have and BYU took a game off Nebraska.

I can see about any result, but 3-0 is going to require a substantial departure from the execution and effort I've seen so far this season.

    Nevertheless, I will be watching.

A pretty bold prediction indeed, especially coming off a home loss to a very run-of-the-mill Portland team.

It will be interesting to see how they respond to that set back.

We have shown flashes of good, solid play but we have not yet shown that we can bring it on a consistent basis. If we are going to sweep this tournament then we will need to see that consistency of good play throughout. An outcome that I would be pleasantly surprised to see and one that would be most welcome.

McGee's solution is more scrimmaging, something she proposed to Lamb this week.

"We've been playing for at least an hour every day," she said. "Some of the drills that we've been doing, we'll side out but we don't work on transition. A lot of the balls were going to our lefts, but we hadn't been working on transitioning to the middle or the right, or even back-row balls. Now that we've been working on that more, I think it's starting to strengthen."
          Great leadership by Sarah.

Elizabeth Field, Waldo, Hoop, Emily Adney, Camri, Big Mac and Ashley Andrade in the starting lineup.

Ashley has only played in 2 sets so far this year. Must have come on in practice.

Shocks starting out in a 5-1.

KEYN 103.7 has now joined the broadcast and, at least for me, is much better audio then the internet feed was providing.
