With the money that was raised and with the possibilities of what could be in future years I would say that is an almost absolute.

I too thought it was a very fun evening! The food was pretty good, but the banter between Lambo and the lady official was a highlight for me.

I am sure next years items to be auctioned will even be better.

I was surprised that there are 23 young women on this years team and they all seem to be great representatives for WSU...

Lambo clearly brings something special to the table as a Coach as he has consistently (at least in recent years) maintained a roster of 20 players or so. Considering that only 12 of these players are on VB scholarships and there are nowhere near enough minutes to go around it is amazing that he can successfully maintain the size of roster he does. Just more evidence of what a special thing we have going with Shocker VB.

I thought the NCAA limit was 13 scholarships. I didn't check and could be wrong.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

            13 for Men's Basketball, but 12 for Women's Volleyball.

HEAD COUNT SPORTS - Head count sports are NCAA sports that cannot award more scholarship money to players than what the NCAA says is allowed. These sports are men's football (85 scholarships), men's and women's D1 basketball (13 scholarships for men and 15 for women), women's tennis (8 scholarships), women's volleyball (12 scholarships) and women's gymnastics (12 scholarships). While coaches can still divide scholarship money up to team members in head-count sports, they must adhere to the limits of scholarships per sport. Girls softball (a equivalency sport) has 12 scholarships available but the coach could divide that money up to 18 or 19 players if they so choose. Many women's tennis teams carry more than 8 players, but the coach cannot award more than 8 girls money because of the head-count-sport status.
This link shows the scholarship limits for all NCAA Sports (head count and equivalency sports):

Peterson's Blog gives you info about the college you're considering attending, tips for test prep, help with student loans, college life guides and more.

This is for 2008-2009, but as far as I know there have been no changes affecting sports in which WSU participates.

              Thanks.

We have some great women representing WSU. As you said, many are paying their own way.

My guess is some of the walk-ons are getting some academic scholarship assistance. I think Lambo said at the VB101 Dinner that the VB team had the highest team GPA of any of the WSU teams.

This was encouraging from today's Eagle article:

She plans on returning next season and doctors tell her she should be able to return to her previous form.
