Shocks sweep Indiana State 30-16, 30-19 and 30-27.

While Indiana State is somewhat improved it is still a little disconcerting to see them take us to the wire in Game 3. Between that and losing a Game 3 to Bradley earlier in the year and you wonder if this team has a little be of an issue with maintaining gthieri concentration and intensity.

Not sure how much, if any, experimentation Lambo was doiing in Game 3 tonight because the radio broadcast was very disjointed and of such poor quality that it was difficult to really follow and enjoy the match.

In any case, the Shocks have held serve and now are looking for some help tonight from Illinois State who is hosting MSU.

Bummer! Missouri State squeaks out a win in Game 1 in Normal by a score of 32-30.

      Let's go Redbirds!

Double Bummer! MSU wins Game 2 by a score of 30-26. Doesn't look like Shocks are going to get any help from the Redbirds tonight!

            :(

MSU jumps out to a 6-1 lead and holds on, leading wire to wire, for a 30-27 win in Game 4 and defeats the Redbirds 3-1.

MSU takes early control of the MVC race with wins at home vs UNI and on the road vs ILS.

Shocks have a home stand starting with Chicago State on Tuesday, then Evansville on Friday and Southern Illinois on Saturday. These are matches the Shocks should win.

Evansville and SIU are probably still a step behind the Big 5 and a step or two above Bradley, Drake and Indiana State. However, both teams will compete hard and the Shocks will need to be ready to play.

Assuming things go according to form this will set up a showdown a week from next Friday in Springield between the once-beaten Shockers and an undefeated Missouri State team.

Let's hope things go according to form, at least as far as the Shocks are concerned.

Let's put some butts in the seats next week. Sitll waiting on the Shocker Maniacs to prove that they really deserve to be called Shocker Maniacs!
            So far it ain't happening.

We need the pep band at the games, for sure. Since we don't have football, the pep band should be playing at Volley Ball matches or they are not earning those scholarships like the football marching bands do.
